Lamb Hogget was superb, friendly service. It was the England Switzerland QF and the place was crazy busy. Watching the football whilst eating a meal felt civilised and grown up although noisy !

Had a great time at The Canonbury recently the atmosphere was fantastic, staff really friendly and whole experience very festive! We had a bite to eat and thought it was delicious, really nice to have the option of a dining room experience within a pub so a few beers at the bar afterwards! Highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Christmas Day My partner I visited the Canonbury Tavern for lunch on Christmas Day. We walked in to a very festive welcome the fire was roaring it was perfect! Our table was next to a young family who we got talking to everyone was so friendly. Our food was great as were the staff, nothing was too much trouble. The Canonbury Tavern put on a fantastic Summer Supper Club this week. The food and wine pairings were exceptional, the table was beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff, especially Ross, Emma, and Eric, spoiled us with great service. A big thank you to chef Munir and his team. Everyone had an excellent evening and we can't wait for the next one!

Last night, I visited the Canonbury Summer Supper Club with some friends. The food was absolutely fantastic and the menu was one of the best I have ever seen. The Chef and Manager deserve credit for delivering such a wonderful experience and explaining each course in detail. Every dish was sensational and cooked perfectly. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future!

The staff at this restaurant were very unfriendly and actively unfriendly. It was hard to get served at the bar and even though we had booked a table for 18 people weeks in advance, they seemed to make things as difficult as possible for us. The chips and bread were cheap and not very appetizing, which made us reconsider ordering more food. It's a shame because the building and garden are beautiful, but their hospitality leaves much to be desired. As local tour guides, we will not be recommending this place to our clients. My son lives around the corner, and this is his “local” so we went for a Sunday dinner/roast and sat out on their lovely garden patio. Despite a football game going on and the place packed with screaming fans, the staff was on point and delivered food and drinks promptly. Was the food incredible…not exactly, but delicious and well prepared. However, this is a pub, not a gourmet restaurant. There are plenty of those around London if you’re looking for a “fine dining” experience. However, if you want a lively British pub experience with better than average food, great selection of beers, ciders, and mixed drinks…this is the place! We’ll be back…

The manager and Emma were lovely and helpful with our booking arrangements but the food was v poor,our Christmas lunch was a complete waste of £100.00 per person ,the young waiter didn 't have a clue and my husband ordered beef and got turkey we told the waiter who said you have started started it now he hadnt just put his fork in as it was underneath a huge dry yorkshire pudfing and unperled parsnips!)tge christmas pudding was over microwaved and he didn 't even ask why my daughter left ALL her dinner, I am having treatment for leukemia but was sick and diarrhoea by boxing day evening such a shame.A complete waste of £450.00 for 4 people I did not leave the £50.00 service charged required b...

Because there was only 2 of us this year, as a treat, we decided to have Christmas Day lunch here. The cost was £95 each expensive for us but we thought we would spoil ourselves. When we arrived the fire was blazing and everything looked fine. Unfortunately because the temperament was unusually mild, being seated by the fire was not ideal. The table had to be moved slightly away from the fire but the sweat was still pouring from us. The staff did their best and I have no criticism of their service and manner. My problem was with the food itself. Our starters were small and forgettable. The main turkey course was a plate of stodge with vegetables either under, or overcooked. We got a doggy ba...
