"I made a reservation for Sunday lunch at this popular pub with a spacious outdoor seating area and play area. The staff and other customers were all very friendly. The Sunday lunch was delicious, with homemade dishes like cauliflower cheese and a generous serving of mixed vegetables that were hot and fresh. The meat options were great, and you could choose between different types or a mixed selection. The prices were also reasonable. The desserts were fantastic - two of us had cheesecake served in a tall glass with a scoop of ice cream, while another had Eaton mess, which were both amazing. I will definitely be coming back to this place."

We sat by the log burner, it was brilliantly cosy. One of my friends is vegan and it’s great to see a menu with multiple vegan options! Warm and welcoming atmosphere paired with delicious food what more could you want? Voir le carte

Fabulous welcome and service. Sadly meals weren't available but we enjoyed soup, rolls, pork pies etc and cake at great prices. Nice quality. Hot drinks also available in addition to alcohol, soft drinks etc. Will look forward to a visit when we can sample the meals

The restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food it offers. The food was good, but not worth the high prices. The drinks were also expensive. There were no indoor seating options, so we had to sit outside with a lot of flies and wasps buzzing around while we ate and drank.

Call before you go. Reserve a table. You won't be disappointed. Popped in whilst visiting nearby and had some lovely food in very cosy surroundings. Polite and friendly staff tended to us. The paté is excellent and the chutney is divine. No pictures as I was too hungry and it was so good. I hope to return Voir le carte

We booked for 1.30pm, we got there early, but it was not a problem at all for the welcoming staff. Drinks meals were swiftly served, the food was really good. Mixed veg gravy served on the side, hot and plentiful. Deserts were really good too. Staff were friendly, chatty good fun. We will definitely come back again. Well done Button Oak Inn! 5 stars

I was excited for a delicious Sunday roast lunch, but was disappointed by the limited options and quality of food at this restaurant. The starters were basic, with tomato ketchup accompanying my pate, which was a red flag. The roast beef and pork we ordered came with mushy, frozen vegetables instead of fresh, local ones. The roast potatoes were raw inside and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt. When we voiced our disappointment to the waiter, no one from the kitchen came to speak with us. Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
