"we have just returned from a long weekend in ashbourne with my in set and we visited the bowling green 3 times. breakfast, dinner on the afternoon were all fantastic. the breakfast was probably the best we ever had. the food was enjoyed by all four of us. the staff was so friendly helpful that we will come back when we visit next ashbourne. this place is also dog friendly in the bar side, which has a nice feeling that our dog was made to feel welcome what is a great thing for us as they are part of our family."

They accommodated an earlier dining time and the steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly to order. The dauphinoise potatoes were delicious. Only knocked a star off because the requested dessert menu never arrived but generally the service was superb.

Visited The Bowling Green on a recommendation from my CEO, and I cannot fault it at all. We dropped in on the off chance and we pleasantly surprised they had space for us. Staff we attentive, and the food was amazing is definitely in the must visit again list.

What a great place, food was delicious, atmosphere is good, took a punt based on other reviews and we were not disappointed, my wife had a pizza and i had the beef ribs and a ribeye steak, the whole meal was excellent. If we are ever in the area again will definitely call in.

We visit here regularly, the steaks are best in the area and at consistently high level. Home made chips are crispy with fluffy potato centres and all other courses/options are good that we have tried with friends and family. Not cheapest option but you get what you pay for right!

fabulous Sunday dinner after a beautiful walk around dovedale. good value for money too. the personal is really nice and friendly, gives exactly the right amount of attention to the customers without smiling. the atmosphere in the bar was good to have a nice selection of beers. will definitely look back when the next in the opposite, no question.

beautiful Sunday lunch cooked to perfection and piping hot. allowed dog in bar area an extremely talented chef and good staff. only 2 small niggers who had no real impact on my experience. I am sure that the boil could knock a beautiful homemade mint sauce instead of bags and it would have been nice to close the dart board next to us while eating was served. 9.9 of 10

I had a schnapps meal here. eating was amazing, atmosphere is great and restaurant is really well designed. the best part was the service. the team was really friendly, treated with the next steps of our meal at the best time and treats some uneasy of other customers really well. the front of the house team and their management should be really proud of itself. we will definitely visit again when we are close.
