What a fantastic find in Whitby, not only do they have superb cocktails but have a good selection of ales. The staff are very accommodating and friendly

Very large portions for tapas so we had over ordered but the food was fantastic especially the belly pork and paella. A sign said staff were new and to make allowances for that but they were all friendly helpful and we had no complaints. Would definitely recommend.

As a couple of newbies to tapas we had no idea what to expect as we turned up for our booking with Christmas gift vouchers in hand. Recently taken over by new management, the Blitz Tap Tales is now open and thriving. With a selection of Theakstons beers and a wonderful variety of cocktails, it offers a fantastic experience. Sit back, sip on a delicious cocktail, and watch as the world goes by on the historic cobblestones of Church Street.

Arrived at 16.25 told when we went in by the waitress we don 't open till 4.30 . Went back just after 4.30 as we had our dogs and dogs only allowed until 6pm. We were informed that we had an hour as dogs were only allowed until 5.30. The web site states 6pm!!! No apology, didn 't seem bothered, no customer service skills.

Called in for a cocktail. Ordered a fluffy cloud and a Sicilian Lemon. Both drinks were very tasty. Decided to try the tapas platter which was also very nice. The Calamari was nice and crunchy, the meatballs were well flavoured and the garlic mushrooms were really nice as well. Staff were helpful and couldn’t do enough. I don't even know where to begin - this bar is a hidden gem! The service was outstanding, the beer selection was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a drink and people-watching for a couple of hours. We will definitely be returning to try out the cocktails and chat with the friendly staff and customers. I highly recommend this place.

Visited for our anniversary. The food was lovely and a good mix of dishes, love the Sri Lankan curry. The staff are young but were very attentive and helpful, a real credit. Talking to the owner, they've had some real struggles as many small businesses have over the last couple of years, one being staffing, this to the point they had left a small note on the tables to explain.I find it a bit mean that some can't cut some young people a little slack, we all started somewhere. It's a great little spot, with lovely food and staff and would be happy to recommend. This was our second visit over the last year and we'll be back.

I booked a taxi from Sleights to Whitby on New Year's Day and was fortunate enough to have Jo as my driver, who is the best in town. I mentioned that we were in the mood for a cocktail, so she drove us right to the door of The Blitz. I had another encounter with the wonderful Jo later on when she went out of her way to return my purse that I had accidentally left in her car. Unfortunately, we only had about an hour to spend at The Blitz, but we absolutely enjoyed our time there. The ambiance and atmosphere were exactly what I look for in a bar. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I am now a fan of stout, as recommended by the amazing owner. I know he may get a big head, as jokingly... Voir le carte
