"I would give this restaurant a 3.5-star rating or a "good" review. It wasn't average but also wasn't very good. There were 7 of us for a work reunion. I had breaded mushrooms as a starter, which were okay but lacking in taste. The lasagna for the main course was decent, a bit dry and lacking in bechemel sauce, but still edible. The garlic bread was the highlight. I skipped dessert, but some of the others tried it. One friend couldn't eat the trifle, which resembled a 1970s version of an instant Bird's Trifle. She mentioned to the waitress that it wasn't enjoyable. Another friend had the meringue, which was essentially smashed up meringue with a spoonful of berry compote on top. None of the other desserts looked appealing, so I'm glad I didn't try them. Overall, the restaurant was okay, not the worst and not too expensive. If you're hungry and looking for cheap eats, this place will do. It's likely everything is pre-made and just heated up. Personally, I probably wouldn't dine here again."

First visit here today (2nd December 2021). A Festive lunch for two couples. we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, well presented and well served. Very good value at £15.95 for three courses. The dining room was very busy with groups of varying sizes but the service was good with just the right time between courses. We will return. We have been regular customers at The Bell for a long time, and used to enjoy the authentic homemade pub food. However, we have noticed a significant increase in prices without a corresponding improvement in quality. We don't want to be overly critical of a local pub that we have always supported, but the experience just isn't the same anymore. We would have been happy to pay more if the traditional homemade cooking had been maintained. Wishing you the best.

Called in with my Mum on a lunchtime. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and happy. For drinks I had a pint of HPA, Mum had half a shandy, no issues. There is plenty of choice on the menu, I had chicken chasseur with lovely boiled potatoes and carrots, peas, beans and cauliflower. All very tasty and plentiful. Mum had Hunters chicken with sauteed potatoes and salad again tasty and plentiful. Excellent value for money. There is a special lunchtime menu with smaller portions, 2 courses for £7.50 over 60's, for under 60's the price goes up to £7.50. A very enjoyable experience and we will be returning.

Arrived for 12 had not booked a table so went to the bar area! To be asked if I needed help, stated I was just looking. Told by a blonde lady, just one table left only Tuesday! Requested a corner spot, not allowed there, but sat in another bar area! Another couple were sat very close to us! Corner spot remained empty. Ordered a dish off the menu not available!! maybe do not have it on the menu then! The whitebait not great and the fishcakes were tasteless! Did not dare complain. Unfriendly, cater more for the elderly and those who had booked! Won t recommend or go back average place and the bar area should be okay to sit where is more comfortable! Voir le carte

My Mom, who lives in Redditch recommended The Bell, I have not been here since i lived in Astwood Bank 30+ years ago! Booked a table and was advised we will have 2 hours at the table, which was fine. We when we arrived we were shown to our table and ordered drinks, the menus were given to us and they were full and varied with a great selection including a Sunday lunch menu. We ordered and the food arrived promptly, looking fab and it tasted fantastinc. Hot plates and food and fantastic presentation. My husband had the Sunday beef roast and commented that it is quite possibly one of the best sunday roasts he had in a restaurant. The restaurant is small and booking is highly recommended as i d...

We recently visited The Bell for a work reunion and all seven of us had a fantastic time. The pub is spacious and was bustling with diners on the Friday night we visited, which is a testament to the great value pub food they offer. Our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. The breaded mushrooms we started with were delicious, as were the Nachos which came in a generous portion. The main courses were equally tasty, with options like fish and chips, lasagne, and fish pie all being well-received. The only slight downside was that the desserts were hit and miss, with one friend's trifle being likened to a dessert from the seventies, while another enjoyed the profiteroles. The...
