"Excellent service, well looked after. The food was amazing, we eat out a lot and our meal was the best by far. I had the mackerel tandoori with squid bhaji to start, my partner had the mussels. The mackerel and mussels were so fresh, the taste was fantastic. It’s the first time I’ve had fresh squid and I was surprised that I enjoyed it. Main were sea bass and John Dorey. Both fish were amazing textures and tastes., with fantastic accompaniments and sauces. Sides of potatoes, wilted greens and tomato salad complimented the food, I especially liked the tomatoes. Even though I was fit to burst, I couldn’t resist a dessert, ordered the chocolate mousse with malt ice cream and salted caramel. Probably the best dessert I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious! The taste and textures were exceptional This is definitely a meal we will not forget and most certainly will return when we visit Bude again. Outstanding, thank you."

"Arrived in Bude Fri evening. Looked for a place to eat. 1st pick was 2 Belle Vue Avenue on the strength of previous reviews. Luckily there was a space for 2 with no booking (but this was indeed lucky book ahead). This is a small venue with maybe 7 tables. 1 server who was fantastic, and is pretty intimate all round. And the food? Top class. It's a small menu, but it's all you need. We had seabass (both if us) which were 2 x fillets and came with 2 king prawns on brilliant mash with a drizzle of sauce to die for. Absolutely mouth watering and deeply saddened when it was finished! How do you follow that up? Pudding!! Mrs had custard tarts decadent pastry and creamy custard filling with an exquisite small glass of cherry liqueur. I ended up going for the brownie with clotted cream. Both were terrific quality. Top drawer. So glad we got a table on the hoof, and if we get the chance we'll book on and be back to try more off the menu. One of the best meals I've had anywhere in Cornwall. High praise indeed."

"I had a great experience at this restaurant today when I stopped in for a delicious lemongrass tea. My little one and I were warmly greeted by a smiling face. While I waited for my tea, Emma, who works there, brought a large cold glass of water to my table and poured me a glass, anticipating my need for hydration while breastfeeding without even asking. I didn't eat today, but the menu and food that I saw coming out looked delicious and enticing. My 4-year-old loved her healthy milkshake with milk, so we will definitely be back to try the menu soon. Thank you once again to George, Frankie, and Poenbe."

"I made a reservation a while ago after looking at the menu online. Upon arrival, we enjoyed a drink in the courtyard which was the highlight of the evening. The outdoor space was lovely and the drinks from the bar were delicious. We were then seated in the dining room, which had apparently been changed to a "Bistro." The menu had completely changed since I booked and our waitress mentioned that other customers had also noticed this. The menu now had a bistro-style theme, as the name suggests. We ordered the crab linguine which had very little crab meat and was served with spaghetti, which was disappointing. The steak was cooked poorly and was chewy and of poor quality. Overall, it was a disappointing start to our evening. Unfortunately, we didn't even return for drinks in the pub as we felt that the dining experience had left a bad taste in our mouths. The young waitresses were pleasant and tried their best, but it seems like this restaurant isn't quite sure what it wants to be."

"We have enjoyed, what can only be described as, an excellent lunch today. We live in Devon and regularly pop over to Bude and have passed here a number of times but have never been in. But on a glorious New Year Bank Holiday Monday it seemed rude not to take advantage of the last couple of seats on the outside terrace with far reaching views of the Atlantic. Jackie was our main waitress and she was attentive, friendly and efficient. We opted for the “Two courses for £18”, picking a main each but sharing a starter and pud to take full advantage. The food was sublime, hot and plentiful. I always take it as a good sign when cloths are needed to bring out hot plates. Nothing irks me more than hot food served on cold plates. The terrace was full of diners and people having drinks but we didn’t have to wait any longer than would be normal when it’s so busy (and it was 1.15pm when we arrived). In fact it was a pleasure to sit in the sunshine and not feel rushed. We may have walked by many times but will definitely visit again as long as it’s warm enough to sit outside as dogs aren’t welcome inside. That aside, we would both thoroughly recommend eating here. One of the best meals out we’ve had in a very long time and excellent value for money. We ate Tempura Prawns and chilli dip (shared) Fish and chips Chicken Saltimbocca Passion Fruit and Mango Cheesecake 1.5 pints coke 1.5 pint drought cider Total £50.60 plus tip Couldn’t fault it!"
