A truly enchanting gem! We loved every aspect of our experience—the cozy open fire, the inviting atmosphere, the selection of ales, the delicious food, the friendly staff, the music, and the accommodations. I can't wait to return!

Booked in for lunch Saturday 14/10 Sunday 15th. Staff all very friendly and commendably calm under the pressures of the Shanty Weekend! Food very good I tried a couple of mains that will be available in their Lambard’s restaurant when it opens in December. Mutton chop with sea beet and smoked potatoes, then wood roasted Harwich sole in a bone marrow broth, girolle mushrooms, and, again, smoked potatoes. Highly recommended. Service: 5 Voir le carte

Service very friendly but very very slow we gave up ordering desserts and went elsewhere. Food was better in the past maybe they’ve cut back with the cost of living or changed chef. Food used to be delicious, now just average. It won awards in the past, but it’s telling no awards this year. Hope it gets back to its best soon was a lovely pub with a great atmosphere and history. As regular customers, we recently organized a seasonal party for twelve people, which included an overnight stay with dinner, drinks, and breakfast. The Alma once again proved to be exceptional, receiving top marks for its outstanding food, warm hospitality, comfortable rooms, and excellent value for money. We truly love this place; it's a quintessential English seaside port pub that boasts a loyal clientele, a charming old-world atmosphere, and superb service. I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. The only time I've eaten lobster, I didn't enjoy it at all! It was tough and had a faint, strange smell. I also felt that the grilled oysters were significantly undercooked. While I don't mind raw oysters, I think others might want to steer clear. To make matters worse, someone at the bar was constantly vaping. Although the bar staff eventually asked him to stop, their eye-rolling made it clear they thought I was being unreasonable.
