"we had a party of four to dinner in thali and we are able to go on a Friday night, so was concerned that it could not be as good as the reviews; that was quickly wrong. the wee are cheap, although a small selection we have skipped the appetizers, with taking off papadams, and just went for the main course. the table had lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka makhani and tandoori chicken. the lamb was excellent, spicy but not hot, tandoori chicken was nice, but a bit dry so that the mint sauce was required. Chicken tikka makhani was perfectly beautiful and creamy, mild in seasoned, but very tasteful side of sag paneer, lemon rice and pulao reis. say paneer was...read more"

south kensington is not somewhere to think immediately for good Indian food. in the did, when I lived on the road, in west brompton, I desperate to find a good Indian restaurant and instead used to visit taiwan village in hot, spicy Taiwanese dishes. if I had found thali, I might never have left. actually, this is not true – but finding a local inder must be high on the list of desires for anyone looking for a new home. must the samosa be the best food invention ever? there should even be a national Samosa day – one that I like to support. they are crispy, golden, come in my guises and are absolutely packed with taste in just a few tiny pieces. often they are accompanied by a good tamarindensoße or coriander chutney – the Samosa experience only take another one. we found a visit to a south kensington institution, thali restaurant on the bustling old brompton road.

curry took a boy. many great things to try in this crisp North Indian restaurant. started with some decoy starters: lamb chop w/ a really good minz sauce, surprisingly delicious crispy spinat salat,n huh biriyani w/ an amazing (mild) senfsauce, scallops samosas good to our mains were usual suspicious chicken tikka lamb rogan j, but very good service good, house bottle red good. price the premium they expect for the quality/area, but not by the overall a good scream

One of my favourite indian restuarants. The varied and interesting dishes is refreshing allowing you to experiment dishes you wouldnt normally, whilst endeavouring in the traditional known delicious dishes so you have a lovely meal no matter what. The bar has upmarket drinks with a choice of smoothly blended cocktails that very nice Not too expensive. Great older and nicely dressed crowd. I love this place and go there every so often knowing great food and service is offered. Voir le carte

the service became somewhat slow as soon as the space is filled. the noise was acceptable, but not ideal. the restaurant is clean, but there is not much ambiente or space. I didn't try her very spicy curries for which they are famous. their idea of mild is still quite sharp for the European taste if they are not used to it, and they had no letise to wash it by pretending that they went out, although we came to dinner too early. but the rita, the lemon rice, the brote were excellent.

Highly recommended!. Thali never fails to impress! Vik and his staff receive you with a very warm welcome….they are very attentive and very professional. The pre-dinner cocktails are moreish and the wine list is varied. The food….is just simply delicious. They have created a perfect balance of taste and texture in their modern but traditional north Indian dishes. Compliments to the Chef! I would like to see Vik sit back and quietly rejoice in this little gemstone….this restaurant is in a class of its own. Highly recommended.
