"Normally one of my favourite restaurants as the food is usually wonderful. So disappointed last night. My husband and I took our sons for a 'special meal ' as we don 't often get time all together. Two of us had risotto which is usually very tasty but they were really quite bland. Three of us had the lamb with pistachio crumb which has always been a favourite. The lamb fat was flabby and the crust seemed undercooked. We wondered as we were the only diners if they hadn 't got the ovens blazing enough. Will wait until the summer when it is busier before we go again."

"Il Tipico è sempre una certezza. Antipasto selezione di salumi e formaggi tipici umbri sempre Top, polenta fritta con tartufo nero e cipolla di cannara con fonduta di formaggio sono fotonici. I primi e secondi tutti con materie prime ricercatissime ed ottimi abbinamenti, ma con il dolce abbiamo raggiunto l'apice, il pasticciotto alla crema e la tartelletta al cioccolato sono assolutamente da provare. Inoltre una accurata selezione di vini sia umbri che nazionali ed internazionali molto interessante. Da segnalare la cortesia e l'attenzione x il cliente da parte del personale di sala e dell'Oste, ci siamo veramente sentiti coccolati. Prezzi adeguati al servizio ed ai prodotti ottimi. Consigliatissimo"

"As an alternative to the main restaurant, you should consider the barbecue which is held on Thursday evenings (from 7:30pm onwards) over the summer months. The barbecue is held outdoors around the pool area of the hotel and has the best views of the Carpina valley in all of Montone, stretching from the distant Apennines in the north right down to the town of Umbertide in the south. It's an all-you-can eat, all-in deal for €20 per head which is great value. There is a wide selection of grilled meats available accompanied by sides of vegetables, salads, fries, roast potatoes etc. House wine and mineral water is also included.The young staff are very friendly and willing to help you with anything you might need. It's a wonderful setting on a warm summer evening to watch the sun slowly set along the valley while relaxing with a glass of wine after a really good meal. And if you have over-indulged at this all-you-can-eat feast, you can always stretch out on one of the sun-loungers beside the pool and watch the stars emerge from the darkening night sky."
