"my father-in-law spent the last 40 summer in list and eats at bernie hens (hopefully I wrote his name correctly) koenigshafen when his father cooked the restaurant. bernie's daughter runs it daily. So, to say family owners and...run doesn't do justice here. koenigshafen is a Sylt-Mainstay. eating is great. Typical North German tariff--FISH. but they also have sylt dike lamb and other traditional foods. very cozy. if they are in list, they have to eat here."

"Just left there after waiting more than 15 minutes for basic service. Others seated well after us were met with a table cleaning, utensils and menus. Eventually we got menus (no greeting or apology) and we decided rather quickly what we wanted. Basically we had just left from across the street having canapés and wanted to go somewhere less crowded. However, sitting there pondering, closing said menus and showing signs of being beyond ready two table fulls of dirty dishes (new guests sitting there waiting as well) were given more attention. Someone working mentioned they would return shortly only to pass us by not once but twice sofort nicht. We took the hint."

"During our one week in List we had dinner in the 'Alter Gasthof ' three ( 3!!!) times, that says it all.First time we had special friesian food, plaice, one with bacon bits and one with Northsea shrimps, big portions and delicious. As starter we had the soup of the day, Gazpacho, perfect for the hot day A bottle of Red wine, here we would like some more light ones which can be chilled. 2 apéro, water, coffee. For us 2 we payed € 173.00. The next 2 times we payed less as we changed to wine by the glass.The Restaurant is famous for their lobster and I had one. 700gr and prepared to crack easy. Overall it was very good and we recommend it. The rooms look like somebodies living room, cosy and comfortable."
