Here for a friend's special birthday party. All the food and drink was beautifully presented and delicious. Other items on the menu were just as tempting. I'm sure we will return and benefit from the great food and the easy goodwill of the staff. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

We had a lovely evening at Sylvan Oak, the staff were all brilliant and the food was lovely. We had partridge and halibut preceded by top quality starters including scallops, prawns and foie gras pate. Great experience and we will be coming back soon. I can honestly say I had the best experience and evening at Sylvan Oak. The food was absolutely divine, as were the cocktails. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and made me feel comfortable at the restaurant. I love the friendly service which isn't overbearing or too pushy. Highly recommend sitting next to the bar and chatting with the staff there. We learnt a lot just by watching cocktails being made. The Cosmo and Old fashioned were really special. And a 3 course meal is good value with plenty of choice Vegetarian options: There isn't a veggie option here which is a shame as the veggies which accompany all the mains are fantastic! Eg the aubergjne (served with the halibut) is easlily a meal in itself, maybe with a grain like cracked wheat or pearl barley

Every aspect of our meal here was absolutely brilliant, the restaurant itself is sleek and clean and open whilst maintaining character with the exposed wooden beams. We came as a party of 11 to celebrate a 60th birthday and everyone was impressed with the absolutely delicious dishes that were served and the wine selection was also great. I'd highly recommend the Duck main and the Crème brulé dessert! Service was attentive and informative whilst also fun and friendly, one of the best overall food experiences I've had in recent years. You won't regret giving the Sylvan Oak a try.

Went for a very special occasion and Ben (front of house) was absolutely outstanding from the second we arrived. It was my parents 60th wedding anniversary and both said that Ben made the whole experience, he’s such an asset to this fabulous little restaurant. We tried a mocktail (secret garden) and the chilli margarita, both delicious. And all courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Couldn’t fault a single thing. All sauces were some of the best we’ve had anywhere, Chef clearly knows what he’s doing! Highly recommend and good value given the quality and quantity of the food, topped off by wonderful service.
