"Normally our way to papas is sorry but at this time I thought I would steal a try when I heard good things. we went to take in and the personal was beautiful and welcoming and could not be more helpful when. they tried to wait our meal waiting outside, as it was nice and sunny and about ten minutes later they brought us out, including sweet sauces and other peculiarities, a very nice note! as I said, we are used for papas that are known to be their big and I. now I ordered a large fish and chips and with no medium compares it with papas, but the taste and quality was second. I really enjoyed the sweet of the teigs and the chips were beautiful and all fresh and hot. I and my partner will visit each other again and have done twice, as this is now our main fish and chip operation for the opposite. the fish contains skin at the bottom of the teigs, so if this is not their ding, others should be considered. but overall an excellent place to come and we will be back, thank you!"

This reminds me of having fish and chips out with my grandparents, nicely laid table, bread butter and pot of tea served with your meal. Good old fashioned menu and nice quality food and good service

Perfect finish to our ladies cinema date, great portions, good variety and friendly service. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed fish chips ir pie and chips. Some even had room for traditional puddings of treacle sponge!

Despite the fact that our visit was during a busy Sunday service we were greeted cheerfully and after a short wait shown to a freshly laid table. We loved the atmosphere with the curtained booths. The traditional pots of tea and bread and butter arrived...shortly followed by beautifully cooked haddock and chips that rustled like autumn leaves. Difficult to find fault with this gem of a place.

hadn't been in steels for years and being honest, will not be in a hurry to return. the fish was very mediocre and did not taste especially fresh, the chips were the same and consisted of quite many endbits and the muddy heaps. the restaurant decoration is very dated and we are not sure how it still keeps it calling when there are others in the same opposite that are far superior, ozeane to just one name! but all said, the personal was all beautiful

Perhaps it was a bad day but neither of us thought this was very good, certainly not excellent. The service of the waitresses could not be faulted, the drinks and bread and butter arrived very quickly but we seemed to wait a long time for...our haddock and chips, not their fault. The fish was not as good as some we have had recently from other places and the batter was a little thick and not as crispy as we would have liked. It was very hot, which was a plus point. Yes, the cafe is dated and in need of bringing into the century but I much prefer good food rather than posh surroundings. We had haddock and chips served with bread and butter and tea. The portions were large, even the small haddock was...a good size, the batter was thin and crispy and the chips were good too. The tea came in a proper teapot with another pot of hot water, a rarity these days. The staff were professional and friendly. The toilets are clean and tidy. We will definitely make Steel's our go to place for fish and chips in Cleethorpes.

only back from the beautiful spring day in meggies. had not booked, but quickly sorted a good table. we were done. three different squids: small to jumbo all excellent and freshly roasted, like the chips. in contrast to some reviews, are muded peas...nie dosen, and garden inherited are always tinted or frozen, and fish is delivered fresh daily. the decor has not changed much, but I would say it is good, a nice time warp. I came for years and never had a bad meal. cant' help listening to other customers in a full restaurant and all comments were very free.

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
