Not the best experience unfortunately, had a Christmas family meal. Had a mouldy tomato from the salad bar, the bowls were dirty and the meal looked like it had been thrown together. Service was very slow even though there were lots of empty tables. We had finished our salad before our drinks arrived. My meal, chicken stack, was burnt and had to be sent back. When it came out the second time the cheese wasn’t melted at all. Considering how much the food has gone up in price I no longer consider this restaurant to be value for money. especially last year were some harvesters on the go to newcastle . never was in the staunton arms you .. nice friendly hotel really nice staff,Nothing was too much trouble. valentinstag such a wide spectrum of customers in restaurant. remarks above all a young family sat near us and how well they were looking for. really liked the game pack they gave for the kids to play slang n ladder, very retro but still fun: our eating was excellent and the service was fast and efficient. the atmosphere is warm and friendly. the place is clean n neat .don’t normally photo toilets, but the gents was exceptionally bright n clean lol ps chris and esme were wonderful hosts. a credit to harvester :

We’ve been here many times before and always had good food and a pleasant evening. This time was no different! We had to call on the way to let them know we were stuck in traffic and they were very understanding and agreed to hold our table top we arrived. Staff were very friendly and welcoming when we did arrive and quickly had us settled in at a table right next to a radiator which was a godsend for me; I am always cold and it was -2 outside and didn’t fancy shivering my way through the meal. I had the mega mixed grill and my OH had the ultimate combo. When they were brought out, we were amazed at the size of the plates, which were full! They were more like serving plates, than dinner plat...

Lovely and clean restaurant, food was well cooked and came out fairly quickly and drinks the same. Our server was brilliant and ever so helpful, despite the busyness of the place! However, what brought the experience down was the rudeness from other staff. I understand that it was very busy, but staff pushed past us and other members of the public a few times. When I preempted our paths crossing and waited, having already been pushed past, staff didn't say thank you or even make mild eye contact. The only other thing I take issue with is the app we were advised to use. It's a good idea, but when placing a gluten-free filter on food, nothing came up.
