Good food. Good accommodation., but bad business when overcharging is ignored even when pointed out 3 times. Still have not received a refund for overcharging on food. Not a small amount either. Voir le carte

Just had the Valentines menu for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and it was probably the best night we’ve ever had in 10 years. Amazing food cooked and presented to perfection, welcoming and lovely host Pauline who could not do enough for us and the nicest interior ever with a gorgeous open fire. She even gave us a bottle of Prosecco as an anniversary gift which was just amazing. Thank you so much , we will be back as soon as we can! New menu looks amazing so we want to try it and your Sunday lunch too! Thank you again. Me and Mrs Wood x x x

During dinner at the restaurant, I complained about the shower and lack of heating, but the response was unhelpful. The belly pork bites were lukewarm and chewy, and the chicken and mushroom pie was dry. When I asked for more gravy, I was told the kitchen had closed and the chef refused to make more. The overall dining experience was disappointing. Back in my room, the heating was still not on and the shower basin was still full of water. I had a restless night due to the cold room. In the morning, the shower basin had drained but left a black residue. As I was leaving, a staff member asked about my experience, to which I expressed my dissatisfaction. No refund or compensation was offered....

Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of coming across the Square and Compass in Normanton on Trent while looking at properties in the area with my partner. Our experience at this restaurant left me unimpressed. The place seemed nice and the staff were pleasant, but the problems arose with our meals. I ordered a glass of Merlot and sparkling water. The water was fine, but the wine was far from impressive. My partner ordered a mint and pea risotto with edamame beans and pea shoots, but it came without edamame beans or pea shoots and was described as bland. I opted for a rare sirloin steak with flat mushroom, grilled tomato, onion rings, and coleslaw. Unfortunately, my steak was overcooked and... Voir le carte
