"We pre booked for 7pm when arrived the waiter looked at us not welcoming at all and looked as if they didn't have a table and had to ask another colleague where to seat us. We ordered drinks and starters however what I wanted were not available, would have been nice to have been told when we were seated as felt pressured to choose something else while the waiter was standing over me spouting out all the starters. Starters were ok. Then the main( mixed tandoori grill) chicken leg dry, lamb was mutton, chicken dry, one overcooked prawn which was burnt! Half a new potatoe. Oh and a gravy boat of mint sauce, forgotten nann which should have come with. Husbands said his was ok but rice cold. We were never asked if we wanted to see the desert menu or if they had one or if we wanted anything else. Think deliveroo was more of a priority as they they were going up and down the restaurant constantly! Customer service training is well needed, when left the door was opened for us but not a word of thank you bye!"

The menu offered an extensive selection with generous portions at reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and assisted me in choosing my meal when I was torn between several options. I was pleased with my selection, and the food tasted fantastic!

I’m not a big fan of Indian food but this is one restaurant I’d visit again. Our son lives in Bridgwater, we live in Derby so when we visit we enjoy a meal out and having been once before we suggested we go again and it was still just as nice as the first time. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Voir le carte

--- **Dining Experience** **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price Range:** £20–30 Per Person **Recommended Dish:** Jalfrezi The dining experience was delightful. The atmosphere was inviting, making it a perfect setting for dinner. With a price range of £20 to £30 per person, the options were both affordable and satisfying. I highly recommend trying the Jalfrezi; it was absolutely delicious and truly a highlight of the meal. --- Let me know if you need any further adjustments!

1. The staff were quite unprofessional, displaying an attitude that suggested they didn’t care whether customers returned. When we mentioned that the rice was overly oily, the waiter simply replied that it would remain that way. For a restaurant of this size, it’s unacceptable not to provide printed bills. 2. The food was the worst I’ve ever tasted. The curry lacked any flavor, the vegetable curry was overloaded with potatoes, the chapatis tasted like bland, reheated wraps, and the pilau rice had an excessive amount of oil. 3. Regarding the quality and portion size, the waiter brought our starters just a few minutes after we ordered, making it clear they must have been pre-cooked and mer...

"Decided pretty much on the spur of the moment to have a meal here after the cinema. Greeted without a smile and directed to a table for 2 adjacent to the main door. Every time it opened an icy blast engulfed us. We asked if we could move to a different table no problem. I ordered a steak and was told the choice of ribeye was not available so decided to opt for rump. My wife opted for the chicken and peppers in white wine sauce with rice. The waiter returned 2 minutes later to say the rump wasn't available either so I decided to have the Calzone Pizza. The meals arrived but I could see on my wife's face that she wasn't happy. Tasting it you could tell that something (I suspect the chicken) had been so badly burned that the whole meal was so bitter as to be inedible. We asked for it to be exchanged for something edible a simple Magherita. As for the Calzone, there was nothing original about it the ingredients were supermarket ham and either tinned or preserved mushroom slices accompanied by a half pint of a red liquid which I presumed was some sort of sauce. Both the pizza and it's sauce had absolutely no taste whatsoever, the pizza base was undercooked in places and the whole thing was lukewarm. The only redeeming aspect of this meal was the young lady who could smile and was very apologetic about the chicken. Perhaps we ate on an off day but from this experience we won't be back!"

"Based on the Bower inn’s website, my husband and I decided to book a table for dinner Sunday at 7:30pm. Based on the description of the pub’s passion for good food, local sourcing of ingredients and menu we we’re looking forward to our dinner. The pub itself also looked welcoming. Unfortunately, when we walked in we had a completely disappointing experience. We were immediately told we had three minutes to order before the kitchen closed even thought on the website the kitchen was open until 8pm, and we were asked for our drink order before we had even sat at our table or had looked at the menu. Things proceeded to go downhill from there. Service was poor. We had to chase staff to get wine or anything else we wanted once our meal was served. Meals came within 5 minutes of ordering and were clearly pre-cooked without much care for quality. Our salad was ice cold and clearly pulled directly from the fridge. A side of broccoli was nearly raw and the veg with the roast looked and tasted re-warmed. While the vegetarian burger was very good, the roast pork was average. We had to chase after staff to order a second round of drinks. All-in-all we were in and out in under an hour having had one of the most disappointing and up relaxing dinners ever when we’d expected to have an enjoyable and relaxing evening. We spoke to the assistant manager about the problems we’d had. She accepted they’d fallen short and took the appropriate action, but still we left feeling dissatisfied, rushed and disappointed. The Bower Inn clearly has potential to provide excellent hospitality, but they obviously need to be honest with customers on kitchen and bar closing times before bookings are accepted and need to then provide a decent level of service and food quality to match what they claim on their website."
