"a beautifuly quaint tea room nestled in the heart of an adylic village the decore seemed to be very navyesk with various pictures of vessles and service personel hats adorning the light grey walls we were showed to a window seat and were given menus after roughly 10 mins a verry smiley and helpful member of staff took our order a latte a coke and an afternoon tea for 2 while we waited for our food and drink to arive we had the chance to soak up the true village atmosphere it was fairly busy day so the all the staff were occupied taking care of the other customers there were old tins placed on the clean window sills possibly a nod to the history of the village and little jars of sugar cubes on the spotless tables with napkins and cutlery tidily placed in square wooden containers our drinks arrived with the customary foam art on the latte and a glass bottle of coke with a glass and some ice which was a pleasent surprise our food then arrived a plate of sandwiches ham cheese and home made coleslaw, egg mayo and cress and tuna mayo that were all delicious made with freash bread that tasted home baked with lots of filling in all the sandwiches what i would call door step sandwiches the second plate had our 2 fruit scones with butter they ran out of clotted cream and a small pot of strawberry jam each the scones were incredibly delicious crumbly yet spongy the texture blew my mind the last plate carried our 2 slices of cake a victoria sponge and a slice of banana loaf, my banana loaf was perfect moist but not to stodgy and so flavourful on the whole it was a plesent expereince with amazing polite staff and incredible food which was very well presented i would and will definately reccomend to anyone looking for ideas for eating out i will definately be going back for the ploughmans A"

Lovely tea room, very big portions and lovely food. Staff very attentive considering how busy it often is in there. Dog friendly, lovely to sit outside. Will be back.

We visited this tea room today and were very disappointed to see that there we absolutely no vegan options. Not even a houmous sandwich or an avocado sandwich! Such a shame. Voir le carte

The food was fabulous. I did though feel embarrassed by the waitress. We ordered three bacon doorsteps which were absolutely fabulous. The waitress came out with two and said two bacon doorsteps, I said we ordered 3 her answer was immediately, I only have two hands, she could have just said yes the third is on the way. I felt the response a bit embarrassing in front of friends.

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday aft with friends having a cream tea in the historic village in the Hampshire countryside An excellent cream tea. The sandwiches great choice made with excellent granary bread. Between use we had tuna and cucumber prawn eggs and cheese Hama and pickle. A choice of scones which were lovely and war with jam and cream naturally. Plus a choice of cake from the very extensive cake menu. Booking recommended. Plus the shop sells such interesting things! I was recommended this place by a friend so I thought I would try it out. While the menu was reasonable choice wise it was a little confusing to know if I had to order and pay at the counter first, or if it was table service. It seems there is a mixture of both. I ordered the single afternoon tea at a reasonable £14. There were options of various sandwich fillings, scones and a choice of cake along with the option of tea or coffee The portions were decent and the scone was heated which was lovely. I would be back again, perhaps Ona nicer day to sit outside as it was a little crowded in the place.

A pouring wet day but had arranged to meet my daughter here as it is half way between our homes. Greeted by very friendly staff and thankfully shown to an indoor table. Ordered 2 large Americanos and 2 poached eggs on toast. Served by another friendly waitress. The coffee was hot and lovely. The food arrived before we'd finished our coffee, always a bonus. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The toilets were clean. The staff were all lovely and the food delicious. What's not to like. We then had a look in the shop and a wander round the village in the rain. We will be back on a sunnier day and maybe sit in the garden.

"We love PPA and have been coming here as a family for a couple of years, since moving to Winchester. It has been a real shame that lockdown has prevented them from operating as usual it was great to go back tonight for a treat, just the two of us. The front of house greeting and service was superb, and we really felt welcomed. Drinks and food orders were taken quickly, and the waiter returned to check that the order received by the kitchen was correct (far better than risking getting it wrong). Wine was ice cold and served properly. Starters were very nice, although in our gluttony we ordered too much the Thai ribs are melt in the mouth tender meat, and the size of a small steak. Partner's lemongrass fish skewers were likewise lovely. We also ordered the tempura vegetables, which were divinely crispy and tasty and I ate too many...... My main course of coconut/cashew crusted chicken on top of mango salad was lovely, the crunch was great against the sharp fruity salad. Partner had sea bass loved it. Far too full to consider dessert but that was our fault entirely. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent restaurant the fact that the waiter looked concerned at my not competely cleared plate (which was due to my aforementioned gluttony) and asked if everything had been OK just exemplifies how much the team cares about their customers. There was a kind, understanding smile offered when we pointed out we were completely stuffed, though! Tiny point to conform (I think) with govt regs re: COVID 19 the ceiling fans/air con were on full blast and it was freezing cold. Management sorted it out quickly by turning it down when we pointed out the temperature issue take a cardigan though. A really great restaurant with a really great manager and whole team. Such a pleasure to eat at PPA we will be back."
