"Called here as a halfway point on the Cleveland Way Coastal Walk. On the cliff top there is a sign saying cafe. From the coastal path you walk up a very steep hill, through a very steep campsite and eventually you are there. I consider myself quite fit but even I was out of puff! But the cafe was clean, the staff welcoming with a nice menu to choose from. We had a ham and cheese sandwich which I forgot to take a photo off. But I must say it was probably one of the best sandwiches we’ve had."

"Have visited on a number of occasions. However, on our last visit popped in to order a couple of take away sandwiches and coffee and was told we aren’t doing any take away food. I asked why not, as they always had done before but the girl serving behind the counter didn’t know. A male person with hair a bit long for his years appeared and said in a gruff voice “we’re too busy and behind with our orders as it is.” No apology or suggestions for alternatives. His attitude was basically go away. Customers sitting at tables raised their eyebrows at his manner. Not good business to be rude to customers that will be around all year and not just holiday time. Shall give them a miss in the future."

"Had a pint of Grapefruit IPA, smelt like used nappies and tasted off, reported to young blonde staff member, said they had been selling it all day, but also mentioned a new keg has just been fitted. Staff didn't feel need to check my beer, said it was fine, so bought another beer callee Cosmic, tasted pharmaceutical like a paracetamol had been crushed up into it. I left with both drinks undrunk, staff sarcasticallly said thank you as I left, dark and dingy place with poor quality ale"

"Love this place. We do a walk along the cinder track to here, which for us is a 6 mile round walk. 3 miles there a couple of drinks 3 miles back! Lovely beer garden at the back outside seating at the front next to the car park. Dog friendly inside out. Walkability: Easily reached from Whitby's cinder track if you don't want to drive. Its a really nice walk too, especially on a sunny day! Service: 5 Location: 5"

"We visited Robin Hood's Bay and stopped off at the Bay Hotel for a quiet pint, we sat outside on some wooden pub tables overlooking the sea wall and the Bay itself. Staff were pleasant and cleared the tables quickly after customers had finished. Upstairs in the bar area folk were sitting down either with a drink or eating a meal. The whole atmosphere was of an enjoyable visit by all. Nearby activities: Direct access to the beach by pub outside tables down a cobbled slipway, allowing a great walk around the Bay beach."
