Pie and chips etc. What makes a better casual mid-week lunch. Loved it. Helpful staff. Easy parking. Good food. Will call again.

Lovely country hotel with bar/ restaurant by the side. Decent clean room,comfy bed and the food at the restaurant is superb! Cooked breakfast in the morning is very nice too. Friendly staff made me feel at home.

For us we normally would give Slaters a 4/5 star review. However on this occasion we could only give it 2/3 We ordered roast lamb which was quite tough. The meat appeared to be not cooked on the day but reheated from a previous day. This may have been due to us having an early booking. Also my wife’s desert was very bland.

I came to Slaters on the way back from an old friends house in Hill Chorlton and we dropped in as we were feeling peckish. My Husband ordered the club sandwich the chicken was delightful and the egg absolutely spot on and I had the...beer battered fish with mushy peas and I must say one of the nicest fish I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to return with my extended family very soon.

I stayed overnight because I had a business meeting nearby the next day. I invited three guests for an evening meal and we were impressed with the excellent staff. The food selection was varied and all dishes were good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast provided was excellent. Overall, it may not be fancy but it is perfect for an overnight stay.

The slightly chaotic arrival experience, as the pub and restaurant were wildly busy, did not detract from a smashing Sunday lunch dining experience. With heavy snow outside, the roaring fire and smell of good food was a joy to the senses, and the quality of...our lunches did not disappoint! The lamb was chunky and tasty, even if not the most tender. The vegetables were very well cooked and the gravy delicious. We will return!

What happened here? Only one person was working at the bar and taking orders. When I asked for filter coffee, they brought me black coffee without milk. There was no indication that any orders were being taken, so I complained at the hotel reception. They were not interested. In the past, I have left good reviews after dining here and attending functions on multiple occasions. However, the service has gone downhill and is now chaotic.

Christmas Day lunch 2023,£100 per person. Lukewarm welcome ,I know it’s Christmas Day but if you work in hospitality then that’s the nature of the beast. Amuse Boucher,poor,pate a huge tasteless slab with one cracker ,no chutney. The Christmas dinner was mediocre a large piece of turkey wrapped around a pig in blanket making it look far larger than it was ,very few veg ,no mash and bullets for sprouts,Christmas pudding was nice ish!! All in all very disappointed and overcharged for drinks. Some staff were in jeans and looked scruffy,Andrew as always the gentleman. We come to slaters every 2-3 weeks and always enjoy our menu choices ,sadly Christmas lunch was a massive fail. Mrs N Booth .

Called in for lunch today to escape the awful weather. Pleasant cozy atmosphere with the wood burner lit and glowing. Staff were friendly. My husband had the doom bar and said it was an excellent pint. Plenty of choice of food including specials. I chose the roast beef dinner my husband the lasagne (large) Both meals arrived hot and great portions Thick slices of roast beef perfectly cooked homemade Yorkshire pud and plenty of vegetables and gravy it was excellent. Husbands lasagne was piping hot and he said it was delicious . He doesn’t like garlic bread and they brought him chips instead. He said even the salad was good!
