"My partner and I had the most amazing meal here yesterday. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, our drink orders taken followed by an invitation to sit outside. Our menu was brought to us swiftly and we placed our orders before being escorted to our table on the other side of the restaurant, giving us an opportunity to see much of the historic building. Bread rolls were served to start, shortly followed by our starters. I had the chicken liver parfait and my partner the pastry and mushrooms, both of which were exquisite. Our mains included the roast beef. Everything was cooked to perfection; I do prefer my roast potatoes to have a crispy outside, however this is simply personal preference. I thoroughly enjoyed my first creme brulee whilst my partner loved his panna cotta. I had spoken to my partner about my experience of fine dining being that portions are small however this certainly was not the case here. Extremely reasonably priced. If we were to make any criticism, it would be that inside the restaurant was far too hot. Unfortunately it meant that both of us felt we were unable to fully enjoy the experience as we say sweating uncomfortably but you can not help the weather. We would visit again but on a much cooler day."

"invited by my friend and a good one. decorated to fine taste and was welcomed friendly and professional. we ordered drinks with free tee water in nice cold bottle we had the early bird menu where there was a nice selection to choose from. we had both followed the duck potterine by steak and I had butternut risotto, boiled to perfection the risotto was delicious. we were tried to have a dessert of a small chocolate pot and ice. the ambiente was perfect. so from their catching up with a friend or on a date or celebrating a birthday I would highly recommend this place. clean and 5"

"We chose East because it was one of the few places open on a Monday that wasn't in lockdown. When we first arrived, I wasn't best impressed with the sign, and thought we were heading into your bog standard traditional English/Cantonese restaurant. However, once we board the restaurant, everything was wonderful. The food was largely cooked from scratch, and every dish was a joy."

"Exceptionally friendly staff. Excellent pizza. Ignore the sad-sacks moaning in the reviews. It 's is genuinely good, wood-fired pizza. Oh, and the rock 'n ' roll inspired decor is fun to look at. Edit: Now 8 months later and we 've been back to Peterborough and decided to drop in for their lunch special. Excellent value. The pizza is consistently amazing. The staff is attentive but not intrusive. Another full 5 star visit."

"beautiful sunny afternoon sitting, the beer as usual is great, but the tables were covered with dirty glasses and table ware, that means a lot of weep around. So we decided to eat for a bite, burgers all around perfect and tasty, but again the young man looking for our table could not take care less, asked for ketchup mayonnaise, but between the question of the salt he was gone, and on the fourth return he brought the knife and gave it. we've been in the rage, but at this time we've paid and left. we love this pub and want to keep it, but the personal needs education and with christmas on the way they have to get their act together."
