"This Italian restaurant is truly exceptional, located in a charming, ancient building with wood paneling. The food is cooked to perfection, the service is excellent and quick, and the toilets are immaculately clean. My wife and I decided to stop here instead of going to a service station, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The restaurant seems to cater more to an older crowd during lunchtime."

"Having read good reviews I visited here with my wife. We were seated quickly and given menus. Very quickly we were given pickles/dips on an assumption that we wanted popadoms….. which meant we felt awkward and we had to say yes and order some, when we didn’t really want them. After that it took a long time for our order to be taken, although the food came in good time. The food itself was very average. The curry sauces seemed ‘gloopy’ and the meat on the bone was poor quality, albeit tasty. Through the meal my wife and I struggled to hear each other, largely due to the general noise levels. It was a Saturday night so some of the guests were a bit loud, but to be fair, not rowdy. The problem is the acoustics of the restaurant. The staff were lovely through the whole meal and the prices were fine,"

"On dirait que le pub a de nouveaux propriétaires, car il était beaucoup plus calme que lorsque nous y étions déjà allés. Les entrées ont mis du temps à arriver, mais quand elles l'ont fait, elles étaient bonnes. Le repas principal était décevant, avec le bœuf sur deux des quatre repas dur et sous-cuit. Le directeur a expliqué qu'ils avaient un nouveau chef et ont réduit la facture des boissons, enlevé le coût d'une bouteille de vin et de certaines bières et retiré l'un des plats principaux de la facture. Dans l'ensemble, une expérience décevante, car nous nous attendions au haut niveau de nourriture et d'ambiance expérimenté précédemment"

"Excellent food. However, the short frog looking waiter was extremely racist. I went to dine at this restaurant last night with 4 friends. We are not from the area and had to travel over an hour to get to this restaurant. When we arrived, there...was no social distancing in place. The restaurant was cramped and it was rather busy with diners sitting very close to each other. The waiter took forever to serve us and we completely understood why due to short staffed. My friends and I were talking in our language. The waiter that served us were extremly polite and took our order. At the end of our meal, we asked another waiter for desserts. He said we were too busy talking in our language and then mimicked an impression of what we were sounding like. We didn't much notice and we didn't say much at this point. Then when the bill came, the waiter walked passed us mimicking how we were sounding like. Then one of friends asked him if he had an issue with us. He said he was singing. As this point the restaurant noise level went quiet. One old white man turned around and shouted why don't you go home We all know what this comment meant. In the end of all of this we were made to be the issue by both the restaurant staff and the public. I"

"Went for lunch with 4 others and we all had sandwiches really beautiful and made with proper bread ,doorstops we used to call them.They all came with salad and chips and the most filling in a sandwich you could wish for. Iwould recommend the STAG to everyone"
