"Sessions is run by Lincoln College allowing catering and hospitality students the chance to run a high standard restaurant service for members of the public. Really enjoyed the imaginative Puerto Rico themed tasting menu. All the flavours worked well together and the food was superbly presented, and we were served by a very friendly and helpful waiter. Definitely recommend. DE MALLORCA: A Sweet bread accompanied by chilli butter and salted butter. FRIED PLANTAIN WITH MOJO DE AJO AND PIQUE: Fried Banana (not plantain), with a garlic dipping and hot sauce. COCONUT SEAFOOD STEW: Inspired by my love for the sea, a coconut stew containing cod, crab, plaice and shrimp. REFRESHING MOJITO SORBET: A pallet cleanser containing rum and mint, frozen for a refreshing experience. AREAS CON GRADULES PAIRED WITH SLOW COOKED PERNIL: A hearty rice dish containing nutritious peas with a slow cooked joint of pork, braised over 8 hours. PINA COLADA PANA COTTA: Last but not least, a delicious mousse-like dessert, flavoured with coconut rum and topped with delicious fruits, and miniature Maraschino cherries."

Fabulous food and great cocktails at rock bottom prices. Run by the students this restaurant has fabulous food at a fraction of what you'll pay elsewhere. We had a superb 3 course meal for £12.50 and freshly shaken cocktails (whatever we fancied) at 2 for £8. Great location and decor you are eating in old prison cells. Go eat

An excellent Christmas lunch prepared and served by the catering students. We had the salmon for starters, followed by the sea bass, and the sauce for the bass was exceptional. Vegetables were beautifully cooked, al dente. My Christmas pud was great and my wife raves about her poached pear. The new manager on the floor seems to be effective as the coaching of the wait staff was great to see. We have an obligation to support this restaurant they’re young people hoping to get into the hospitality industry and we have to give them opportunities to practice. Tremendous value for money, as always.

I was completely impressed by the quality of the food at this restaurant! The dishes are crafted by some young individuals who are just starting their careers in the food and hospitality industry. The restaurant is located in the old city court building. I can't think of anything to improve upon - I wish I could cook at this level and I'm 60 years old! Congratulations to the staff for their hard work, and thank you to Mrs. Shannon for the quick tour. Overall, it was fantastic - at £18 for a 4-course meal, it's the best value in Lincoln. Plus, you also get a couple of chef's specials included in the meal.

We enjoyed another three course lunch at Sessions. We began with a cocktail each, a Negroni and a Espresso Martini, both of which we excellent. The starter we chose, a mousse from Lincolnshire blue cheese was the dish of the day for me. The sharpness of the blue was at exactly the right level. My wife chose the Masala mackerel for mains while I opted for the boeuf bourguignon. The dish was rich, with succulent pieces of beef and a delicious red wine sauce. We both had apple and blackcurrant crumble for dessert. Portion sizes were perfect and the students worked hard at getting their heads around everything. Well done to Josh for great service to us. Two 3 course meals and two cocktails, £35.

I heard about this whilst on a trip to Lincoln. I booked to avoid disappointment, as the window for opportunity was small. I was greeted by friendly students, who showed me to my table. I was given the menu, which had a good choice of food, offered cocktails £5 each or 2 for £8), which were made at my table and a choice of wines. The food was hot and produced to a high quality, and well presented, the price was unbelievable, 2 courses £9.50 or 3 for £12.50), the staff were faultless. The team leader Andy was friendly, knowledgeable and explained what the students were learning, and was there overseeing everything. I can't praise enough, if you are in Lincoln this is well worth a visit, I wil...

Another top notch performance by the Sessions team, coolly steered by tutor Andrew Brooks. If the students don't realise it now, they will in a few years, that they have one of the best and most knowledgeable tutors for many a mile. I began with the slow cooked egg while my wife opted for the carrot and coriander soup. The slow cooked egg was atop my favourite starter, a crispy slice of black pudding. Beautiful. For mains, I chose the Steak Diane while my wife chose the Lincolnshire Poacher soufflé. My Steak Diane was cooked perfectly by a 2nd year student and she did a fine job it was the best SD I've ever had. The sauce was spot on. We finished with the chocolate fondant and again, these w...

Our first meal out after lockdown was at Sessions, a restaurant housed in a former jail, which seemed fitting. It was wonderful to be back dining out, the food was exceptional as always, and we were attended to by young, enthusiastic staff who were learning the ropes of the hospitality industry. The rarebit starter was cooked to perfection, my wife raved about her hake, and I was particularly impressed by the creative combination of pork belly and pork cheek. The chef deserves kudos for such an innovative dish. My wife adored her passion fruit dessert, while I enjoyed my chocolate torte (although I regretted not choosing the passion fruit myself). The wine pairings were spot on and my Old Fa...

We made a reservation to ensure we had a table at The Sessions Restaurant in Lincoln. The students working there were new, and we felt it was important to support them in their learning experience. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and seated at our table. The menu looked fantastic, and we ordered drinks - one person opted for red wine while the others chose water. The students were all friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the special chicken soup and pulled pork for starters, which were delicious. The mains, including fish of the day, pork, and chicken in breadcrumbs, were all flavorful and well-prepared. The desserts, including banana and rich chocolate, were also a hit. The portions were...

"From the outside, it looks like another tacky eatery in a street lined with tacky takeaways. Walk through the door and pleasantly surprised. A little deli counter, a back room then a garden. The garden overlooks a derelict abandoned overgrown garden. Not a problem, I am used to this in Athens. What is the problem, and I don’t see in Athens, tenants throwing rubbish out of their windows into the garden. It is ideal breeding ground for rats. The local environmental health should investigate, and if needed carry out enforcement action. To sit outside or not? Maybe too cool when the sun went in, and too hot if it came out as no shade. I decided to sit inside, near the back door. A red rose on the table is a neat touch. I was the only diner. Oh but we were busier earlier. Strange how I am always told, if you’d have been here when you weren’t here, we were busy. The menu was singurly uninspiring. Why panini’s? Everywhere does paninis. I have never understood why. Or pasta. The choice penne (which I don’t like), or spaghetti (which I dislike slightly less) I chose spaghetti Bolognese. It arrived seemingly quick. I was asked when I placed my order, did I wish for Parmesan cheese? It was added in the kitchen. Usually brought to and added at the table. Spaghetti Bolognese is not an Italian dish. It was an artificial dish with elements of North and South. The spaghetti mediocre at best, the Bolognese sauce excellent. I was going to leave but decided to stay. I chose tiriamasiu for dessert. Coffee, Illy, no thanks. For coffee walk to Madame Waffle or Coffee Aroma. I visited a couple of weeks ago, the previous week I found closed."

"We always have a great meal here. Kine is a little bit different to a lot of restaurants around Lincoln. It totally has it 's own style and vibe. The menu is very compact, with just a handful of starters, mains and deserts. But... That is precisely why I like it. Each option (and I have been 3 times now) is well crafted, full of flavour and just a little bit different AND totally accesible. Everything option feels special, but not intimidating. The battered green beans are incredible, the n 'duja mac 'N ' cheese balls are great, the spiced koftas are full of flavour. The vege options are just as appealing and tasty as the meat options, which for me is an excellent reflection on the creativity and talent of the team. The front of house staff are accomodating, charming, polite and fun and the whole vibe has a bit of the je ne sais quoi about it. For a meal out for a couple, or small group who appreciate good honest and interesting food, I would highly recommend it. Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian meals, which are just as tasty as the meat options. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Key Lime Pie, Crispy Tempura Green, Salted Caramel Macadamia Chocolate Tart, Tempura Green Beans and Roasted Cauliflower Hummus, Ras El Hanout Spiced Koftas Recommendation for vegetarians Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes"
