"We stayed one night in early August in a family room with shower. The accommodation is clean and comfortable (twin beds plus bunks), with a shared toilet at the end of the corridor. Our hosts (particularly Madeleine) were very welcoming and dinner and breakfast were...good and hearty. The lake is very popular with day visitors, despite only really being accessible by walking, but the area is peaceful and tranquil once they have gone. We arrived by hiking from Ebenalp (where the lower cable car station staff kindly agreed to look after most of our luggage, so we only had to hike with our overnight gear). The walk down is relatively straightforward with good boots. For much of the way there is a wire 'handrail '. There is an easier track up from Wasserauen, and plenty of scope for more walks around and about. We were also able to borrow a rowing boat to get out on the lake (though no lifejackets were offered). It should be noted that the guesthouse is only open from April to November, but the Parpan-Dorig family responded very promptly to all our reservation inquiries."

Der wirklich sehr anstrengende Fußweg zum Gasthaus lohnt sich. Es ist atemberaubend schön hier und wenn man von einem ausgiebigen Spaziergang um den See zurückkehrt, warten das köstlichste Essen und perfekte Gastgeber auf dich, die sich die extra Mühe geben, die man als Gast besonders zu schätzen weiß. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber sauber und gemütlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The guesthouse is an hour hike uphill from the train station. It offers very basic alpine accommodations with shared bathrooms (some rooms have showers). It is however situated on a lovely little lake with good hiking options in the area (none too easy though). Dinner...on their patio by the lake can be supremely enjoyable. A good base for hiking and taking in the beautiful scenery. rooms were clean, as expected.
