"Very disappointed last night. Went for the seafood platter which was £19 Plate was cold and food Luke warm. The whole whiting was unseasoned and undercooked. Couldn't eat that. Scallops tasteless and unseasoned. 2 large prawn tasted like a precooked warmed up one. Little pot...of mussels was ok but cold. 3 little calamari rings with soggy coating. Garlic bread was a part baked roll which was underdone. When I complained the waitress who was very sweet said they had burnt our first bread so probably our food sat around until they baked another one and didn't wait long enough for it to be cooked. I think the chips would have been nice if they had come freshly out of the fryer. The Chardonnay was delicious. All in all dreadful. The waitress was apologetic and offered to knock off some money but I said no because I wanted them to know we didn't complain to get money off. Will not go there again. Wish I had read the last reviewers review about tasteless food. I would not have gone."

The setting and location is lovely, but however the food was boring and tasteless. Staff were friendly and attentive.

for this place many customers need to turn away sensible eating, but not over exciting a bit expensive for what they get.

very nice restaurant with local caught fish, I had local caught gurnard, in which really was good and my partner had spaghetti, in which they really enjoyed, is a bit small, so you can busy but that goes with the charm, parking close

Although I haven't paid a visit since the refurbishment, Ive been few times before that and it was never too good. An ok food, average service. heard from people who worked there that their kitchen was incredibly messy and they wouldn't eat from there. Never...a good think to hear from somebody who used to work there.

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
