"We have been here several times over the past years whenever we were in Vienna, and it’s been our go-to restaurant in the Meidling neighborhood ever since. It’s just a short walk from the Meidling gate of the Schönbrunn palace, but it’s not touristy at...all. I’d like to keep it a secret, actually, but it’s just too good. The regular menu is available with English translations and they have a changing menu of the day (which is only available in German, though). The food is authentic, reasonably priced, and just delightful. Waiters don’t all speak a lot of English, but they make up for it with their friendliness. It has a separate section inside for smokers, and in the summer months they offer outside seating as well. Try the Schnitzels with pumpkin seed breading! They also have great, home-made style salads as sides or mains. If they happen to have it on the daily menu, do absolutely try the curd dumplings with apricot, you won’t regret it! One thing I really like as well is that they always serve your entire party at once, so you will always be able to actually eat together and nobody’s got to keep waiting for their food while the others already start or politely wait until their meals get cold. I’ve found this to be not as common as I’d thought before, and I really appreciate that they pay attention to this."

Considering the reviews, I was expecting to eat great food. In the end, it was an average food which we eat thousands times in daily lives.

We walked from the Schloß Schönbrunn. The restaurant is an old style restaurant. The restaurant was busy with locals. We decided to have lunch there. The food was delicious. Recommended.

The prices are a bit above average but totally justified, the food is the delicious and the portions are well-sized. We had lunch including a dessert and will certainly come again. The service is friendly and quick.

The decor is out-to-date, but the waiter is funny and knows how to please to kids (noooooo he gave them a crocodile -play of the 80's). The lunch is very good, there is no fashion frills seen in all restaurants now. All is stayed in...80's, and that' s cool. Voir le carte

We were 3 families and had dinner here after a Schonbrunn visit. We were the only tourists as the rest looked local. Service was very good (even though only one waiter was speaking english), the food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Only...their selection of beers was a bit limited. Highly recommended if you are in the area and want local cuisine.

We had completed a late afternoon stroll in the Palace gardens and were more than peckish. We strolled on down Schonbrunner Strasse which does not, at first, seem promising vis-a-vis gastronomy, but it does not take long to get to Schwabl. The waiters speak only...German, and the customer seem to be locals, both of which are a good sign! We had scherzel as a starter which was really good, the chili oil giving the lie to the idea that Austrian food must be bland. We followed this with schweinebraten for me and goulash for Mrs H. St. V. and we were both very well satisfied. I would have to say that you need a little patience: the service is not fast, but this was because there were only two wa... Voir le carte

This restaurant is a family run cozy place within walking distance of the Marriott Courtyard Schonbrun. The menu is traditional Austrian cuisine. The restaurant is fairly small so you almost feel like you are dining in someone’s dining room. The waiter was very helpful when...we first dined there, explaining the dishes. We ate there twice during our stay and enjoyed both meals. The first time we ate Weiner Schnitzel what else?? The food was delicious. The second time we ate goulash with dumplings goulash is a dish between soup and stew, so it needs a starch to soak up the gravy. This again was excellent. This restaurant is a neighborhood restaurant, not a tourist restaurant, if you prefer so...

We weren’t supposed to get here, but just dropped by to have dinner after surrounding schönbrun palace. I can say it was the best restaurant in Wien I have visited! Especially Chicken cream blah blah was the best(that is because I didn‘t expect that it...was SO TASTY! . If I know it could be the best menu for me, I would remember the name of that, but it was beyond my expectation!!!!!!! And the staffs were so helpful. If I have any chance to visit Wien again, I will never miss this restaurant!! Please keep place till I come back here, chef!
