We had a day trip planned to mönchengladbach to take off a power grid. Then we took the opportunity to explore the castle. A hugely beautiful building complex in the middle of a green environment. You can play pétanque, there's a playground, a skateboard parcours, walk routes and more. If we have more time, we're definitely gonna have to move on to this. Die Schlossanlage Wickrath mit der Parkanlage ist ein toller Ausflugsort. Mit den Gebäuden der Vorburg, die als Pferdeställe gebaut wurden und dem angrenzenden Turnierplatz lockt das Schloss viele Pferdebegeistere an. Als Wasserschloss angelegt ist das Schloss von Wasser, Feldern und Allen umgeben und der Schlosspark ist für jeden frei zugänglich. Zur weitläufigen Parkanlage gehört ein Café Restaurant (Corona bedingt geschlossen) mit Terrasse und Biergarten. Ein idealer Tagesausflug den man in diesen Zeiten machen kann.

on 2.08.2017 my brother and I had decided to leave to the wickrather castle. already at the arrival around the lunchtime will feel something hungry and we decided to eat something in the restaurant before we explore the areal further. not only the loving facility surprised us positiw. we were also pampered with kulinar. it was also excellent! the weather was stable and we could therefore sit on the terrace overlooking the park. on the afternoon we took coffee and cake to us on the basis of the positive experience. it was an extremely pleasant day that you will always remember. a visit to the castle restaurant I can therefore recommend only warmly.
