"The cuisine in this lovely little place on the quiet corner in Offenbach is best described as shades of topf interesting combinations cooked to death into mousses of green and grey and similar taste. Its hard to say what was what out of...the courses we had as the taste was consistent during the and a half hours of our dinner. minutes later after we sat down we were given a menu and minutes later our wine a nice choice which was made by the somelier, because there is no wine card, only the roulette of blind choices. About an hour in and two bread baskets later we had our first dish and with minute intervals the rest. Judging by the ironic comments of a woman who seems to run the place this sort of thing is quite common there. She was also insistent on doing every aingle thing herself, screaming at the staff across the restaurant not to serve without her. The staff seemed awkwardly sorry for the whole experience. In the end we received a good dessert and a few inaproppriate comments. Its hard to say exactly why this restaurant has been awarded so many stickers best of but perhaps we have simply been there on the wrong day at the weekend, stumbled into the wrong staff and were unlucky not to have the actual chef of this place in the kitchen ? In any case , dine fine somewhere else and if you do look for a tragicomic comedy performance there's plenty of theaters in frankfurt. I actually wish the staff and the restaurant all the best, as despite not being service and food wise on the level hinted by the prices ,it is still the most ambitious local establishment. The problem though is that the service is overtly patronizing fancy being touched by the staff and the kitchen is trying very hard to mimic what an average fine dining dish is and seemingly without purpose. Without a doubt the cook and the somelier are very skilled but held by either management or the owner. Ps : dont forget to bring you phone to the toilet as it is styled as a turkish sauna and has no light."

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. The menu is very interesting, with very interesting combinations of food. Great experience. There is also a very nice winelist, so you can have the right wine with your meal. Very nice staff that guide...you through your great meal. :

You would probably not expect to find a great fine dining restaurant in Offenbach, but actually Schaumahl is one of the very best in the region and well worth the drive from Frankfurt. Some of the most delicious food I've ever had; I have been here many times and never been disappointed. My guess is the only reason they don't have a Michelin star yet is because of the warm, friendly service (who give spot-on recommendations for wine...pairings too). Gourmet food for amazing value.

Didn't know the restaurant which happened to be the networking dinner location during a seminar. Went there with not much expectations and left there after a truly pleasant evening with delicious food and matching wines. The guys hosting us did everything to make this...visit a pleasant and remarkable one.

I went with a friend who is a regular at SchauMahl and between the two of us we had the entire menu so I cold sample everything complete happiness ensued. Really fantastic dishes came out of the kitchen paired with wines that made me...want to bring bottles home. From the amuse-bouche I immediately knew I was in for a treat. This is Michelin star food without the stuffiness or price. Get the foie gras!

This is our favourite restaurant, which serves amazing new food creations every time we go there. The prices are not in a range that would allow us to enjoy Schaumahl food every week, but whenever we go on special occasions the quality of food and...service are absolutely worth it. We've been to other more expensive restaurants in Frankfurt, but would always recommend Schaumahl to anyone who is looking for a special treat at a fair price. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. I would always trust them to propose excellent corresponding wines. The wine menue offers really good international choice.
