"lovely Italian restaurant, not reminiscent of the chain restaurants, just as i prefer them, authentic. Wonderful food, fab specials board the crab ravioli was sublime and perfectly seasoned. We had a bottle of wonderful Gavi di Gavi and lovely friendly knowledgeable service. Will definitely return, its years since i ate here and its still so good. Highly recommend"

"We stumbled upon a unique gem in Durham called Shaheen's. Despite a power outage in the area, Shaheen's remained open and welcoming on a cold and rainy night. Adam, the son of founder Bob, greeted us warmly, giving the restaurant a family-run feel. The food showed a genuine passion for family recipes, with well-managed spice levels and flavorful dishes. We tried starters like the fried onion, mushrooms and garlic, and a lamb kabob, with the kabob standing out as a favorite. The black dal was a pleasant surprise. For mains, we enjoyed the Chicken tikka, which was both mild and spicy, paired with brown basmati rice and garlic naan. Overall, Shaheen's is a homestyle restaurant where you feel cared for. "We walked to this village pub and decided to have food. The drinks were a fair price, and there appeared a decent menu. We had some chicken fillets to start, which were okay. However, the mains are very dreadful. The chips on both meals looked as though they had been fried ten times, simply burnt as was the fish which was simply inedible. The excuse for mushy peas was dry and bland. The gammon was overcooked, and both meals were saturated with salt but no condiments on the outside table. The lady serving was pleasant enough, and we gave feedback. She advised the locals don't go anymore I won't be going back either. Part of the excuse was that they didn't decide the food Punch Taverns agreed on the menu that was irrelevant as no matter how good the food was it was massively overcooked and laced with salt."

"Visited at happy hour....the staff are super friendly, I ordered the potato skins, onion rose and Texas 2step. I think the happy hour portions may be slightly smaller compared to the pics in reviews.....but for this I am glad as there was more than enough and good value for money. 1st off the onion rose.....how can onion taste this good??! One of the tastiest things ive ate in a while. The ribs and chicken came out, the ribs were delicious and tender.....I thought I wouldn't eat the chicken goujons as was already full...but they surprised me how nice they were so ended up eating them all. All round great meal, definitely recommend."

"Walked in at 19:14, got drinks and menus, and then told us we had 5 minutes to order if we wanted food. The creamy mushrooms were watery and luke warm. Hallumi bites were OK, and the chicken wings were good. Mains The rib eye was more medium rare than medium well, no steak knife, but it wasn't needed. Tomatoes were raw but had a black middle as if they had cooked it. Chicken burger was solid. I could have used a hacksaw to find the dried chicken inside. The chicken curry was bland and watery. Poor choice of non alcoholic beers. Monday night is folk night, and the calming music calmed the savage breast after that burger. I don't like leaving reviews that are not glowing, it is a good pub that could be great with a bit of attention to detail in the food you serve."
