Royal Gurkha Spice - Carte

Food was delicious, fresh and really tasty. We had the butter chicken and it was really good. Would highly recommend.

I decided last minute to stop by this restaurant to pick up some food, and I must say, the special biryani and keema naan were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant over any other local takeout spots.

Takeaway for a family of 4. Bland food. Tried twice gave it the benefit of the doubt as thought we had picked the wrong dishes. All the sauces tasted the same even though one was a curry. Breads tasteless also. Sadly won’t be returning

This was the worst Indian meal we have ever had! Like other reviews mentioned, the food lacked flavor and spice, with all the curries tasting very similar as if they were based on the same sauce. The chicken and mushroom balti tasted like a stew, and the Murgha Makhani tasted more like gravy with no hint of tomato. The naans were hard and chewy. The only positive was that the chicken was succulent and the dishes arrived hot and on time. However, we definitely will not be coming back. Voir le carte

Dreadful takeaway. We are in the area for a short holiday and we all fancied an Indian takeaway. We all had different opinions but we were all in agreement about how bland and disappointing the food was. The lowlight was the King Prawn Patia which contained a small number of small prawns as shown on the photograph. £14.95 for this in a generic sauce. A number of the other reviews for takeaways from this restaurant make similar comments to ours. Is there a deliberate policy to ‘not bother’ when it comes to tourists?

After enjoying a fantastic meal at Urban Tandoor in Bristol, we decided to grab a quick takeaway from Royal Gurkha Spice. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed. We ordered the Set Meal for Two and were disappointed by the quality of the food. The lamb bhuna contained roughly chopped onions floating in a thin, watery yellow sauce with very little flavor or spice. The chicken tikka dish was greasy with a pink sauce, and the naans were undercooked and doughy. The only decent item was the rice. This was our second poor experience with takeaways from Royal Gurkha Spice, and we will not be returning until they improve their cooking standards.

Unfortunately a real dissapointment. I read the previous reviews and felt they were quite mixed so decided to book and make a decision for myself. I booked for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children- all of whom love a good curry). I ordered my all time fave Chicken Tikka massala, children went for Korma and hubby a biryani. Initially I was a little surprised that the curry dishes were served in cereal bowls. My daughter (who is 15) sampled hers first and said it was bland and didn’t taste of anything. I thought she was just being a picky teenager but on sampling the Tikka Massala this was no different. Full of colour but absolutely no flavour to any of the dishes. Such a shame! The byriani...
