"I seen the reviews on here and decided to try it for myself the majority of remarks on here was good food, awkward service. On first look this place looks from the outside just like a male orientated tapas place but on the walk through...is a lovely rustic restaurant. The waiter that greeted the people in front of us was like basil fawlty of fawlty towers fame, he was quiet abrupt but not rude or nasty. he sat us down swiftly came with the menu and when I asked for the set menu he seemed disgusted I would choose it, I don't want to put people off with the waiter as I found his attitude not nasty but awkward and humorous. The set menu had suckling pig so we had to try it. He took our order swiftly but he seemed in a rush even though it was quiet, we ordered the beansoup for starter which was amazing and way too big but beautiful in texture and taste with massive chunks of ham hock, excellent. The suckling pig was another huge portion but was fantastic and was succulent. The desserts aswell was fantastic simple cold very milky rice pudding topped with cinnamon (heaven). It all came with bread for no extra charge and a bottle of wine. I forgot the set menu price but it was definitely a good deal. The food was perfectly cooked and exciting. The best meal we had in Madrid for its hearty flavoursome food with a colourful performance by our waiter how did like to shout loudly. Make up your own mind to eat here as I did after looking at reviews but the food spoke for itself I found the waiter an entertaining dinner accompaniment."

Had the night menu Very good value for money. The food was very good and the cochinillo was delicious. Nice house wine and very good flan! The waiter was nice and attentious

dinner, seduced by this typical Spanish restaurant in a tourist district. the starters were right, paella was very fat with many small garnels (directly from the freezer). white wine of the house was just terrible. everything in everything you can find better places

Apart from the usual tapas and a la carte this popular restuarant offers three good value set menues a and each include courses, bread and a bottle of wine between two. While not michelin star quality , the food is tastey...and the portions generous. The service is friendly and helpful with some english spoken. Voir le carte

When I say typical, its just that, And it was just what we were looking for. This pleasant restaurant has a good variety of typical menu items from carnes to pescados. As expected, salads and veggies are fresh. Roasted potatoes are superb, and main...ingredients fully flavorful. Shellfish and finfish reign and were served simply no fussy accompaniments. Service was attentive, but we had to get our waiter's attention to bring the check. All told, this was a good choice in an area a bit more limited in choices.

Arrived in Madrid mid morning and went to Plaza Mayor area via subway. After getting off at Opera Station, we had a stroll along the pedestrian boulevard and came upon Rincon de Roque. We were surprised that most of the kitchen staff were Filipinos. They...even gave us free calamari and angulas for appetizer. We had jamon iberico, anchovies with manchego cheese, seafood soup, grilled salmon and kinds of paella. What a treat! Satisfying first meal in Spain. Reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

we have made a mistake, despite the assessments. there was no English translation for the menu of the day and the waiter could not work out. we ordered some first dishes. one was edible (artichokes with ham pieces,) while the other was. disgusting (soup half soup half a pot of beans with piece blood sausage inside). then we have the most important courses: a piece of absorbent swarm with riders. the horses were unusable, while a pig was a piece of fat and broken bone, with hardly meat. I was so disgusting that didn't wait to see which dessert they had been on camp. they stay away and find a more meritful place to spend their money! Voir le carte

our entire visit was pampered by unrest. at the end of the Spanish lunchtime for a drink and a snack. the waiter waited to finish his lunch before he recognized our presence. then it was said that the menu on the table is no longer...available or something. he was mostly monosyllabic and would not even speak to us in Spanish with which my wife is fluent. then we got a menu with the dinner offers pm, remember them) in which the portions and prices were once higher than the table menu. he did our drink job wrong. then we were allowed to order the table menu. eating was decent and fast, so no problem with the kitchen. our check was then as often as the prices on the menu I order on. we paid and...

the only thing to admire this restaurant is that a lot of artex remains on the deck and does not fall into its plate, although the addition of gipsdu could have improved only the food. I had a starter of artichokes with ham. basicly a zinn of artichokes on a plate and a few square old ham blown up. my partner had the paella: what looked like rest eklumpen of the possed pigeon, complete with bones and gristle, and a couple overboiled garnelen in rice. let's be fair, the rice was ok. our main thing was the derecot and the salt meadow. the entrecot was the most bizarre steak I have ever seen served with some dried chips. a part of the steak was very thin and leathery and could also be described...
