"The beautiful weather with sunshine drew the Münster countries back to the wheel. Also my wife and I spent the day in the saddle and enjoyed the beginning of spring. After a few kilometers we reached the Bentheimer Kurpark at 2 pm and looked at whether there was a possibility to return and delete hunger. Unfortunately, as usual, the kitchen was open at noon and evening. So we went further towards Bad Bentheim. On the way there we saw the old railway station where a hotel restaurant is now operated. At the eyes of the beautiful terrace opposite the sun we stopped and looked into the map. The dishes offered woke up our curiosity (see homepage) and my wife asked about the kitchen times. The answer was very nice and customer-oriented: Of course they are welcome to eat with us. So the decision was pleasant, we were looking for a table in the sun on the terrace. We both did not know this restaurant yet and we were looking forward to what would be so culinary and service oriented. The restaurant is decorated in a very attractive style. The terrace is beautifully south-west facing and pleasantly quiet despite the proximity to the Bundestraße. The railway enthusiast is still told that trains for admiration on the platform are still on the move, even without great Ruhr interference. The very friendly and knowledgeable service was mainly carried out by a young lady who immediately noticed her good training. The bistro table outside was immediately turned into a beautiful dining table. Place sets, white fabric napkins, cutlery for 3 courses, good wine and water glasses allowed the pleasure to rise to dinner. We ordered both the offered 3-course menu of the Bistro card at the price of 29.50 EUR. Here you can choose the respective course from 3 to 4 dishes offered. So there should be something for everyone. The dishes for this offer come from the fixed map. As an appetizer we chose both: domestic smoked salmon with marinated cucumber, Endivia Salat with Dill, Estragon and Kebel A relatively large piece of salmon was served us, a mild smoke aroma made fun of eating. With the cucumber variations and herbs a very finely tuned dish. The appetizer could please! The two main courses were different: a Viennese calf carving was used for my wife, puristically on the plate only with lemon. Separate very good frit frit and a sweet tasty cucumber salad. My wife was satisfied and had no complaint. I chose a dish from the Bunten Bentheimer Schwein: Nacken vom Bentheimer Landschwein with a sauce dried sausage Macadamianüssen. Purely visually temptingly dressed I was allowed to enjoy a tasteful piece of extremely tasty pork, not to lean as it must be with a certain fat content, the pig must have simply for good taste. The meat was supplemented by a strong dark sauce and roasted nuts. Tastefully a very happy combination. The accompaniment of roasted black roots, mushrooms and other vegetables made the whole tasteful round! A very tasty dish. At the end of both of us a cheese plate for which we had to pay 5 EUR supplement, but the offered cheese justified this additional fee. 5 different Dutch and French raw milk cheeses rounded off a very successful menu. Good companions to the cheese were a delicious, roasted fig bread and a good fig jam. Through the menu we accompanied a correct Blanc de Noir from the Spätburgunder from the Ahrtal by Brogsitter and an Argentine Malbec as a recommendation for the cheese service. Conclusion: We will return safely. The offer in kitchen, ambience and service meets high requirements. For almost 90 EUR a very good price ratio!"

"Last July 2015 was again one of the beautiful days of this month. As always on Friday, the fridge was empty and the visit to the market was only for the next Saturday. So look where to eat. We had a visit to Nickisch in Schüttorf on the tableau for a long time. The Hotel Nickisch is a very old-hearted house in the Obergrafschaft and some of my business partners had already innate and fed with positive feedback. So my wife reserved a table on Friday night and we took advantage of the nice weather for a convertible tour of small villages from Rheine to Schüttorf. My wife had actually agreed to drive back! So I was in a happy position not to have to miss a glass of wine. Once in Schüttorf we entered the well-stocked restaurant. There was a tapas buffet this evening (usually a month you can visit a buffet dinner in the restaurant), and the common county loves to beat the belly completely. My wife and mine is not, and we quickly moved to the quiet and beautiful terrace where we were able to dine in the company of 4 other tables in peace and without buffet trout a la Carte. The very friendly and fast operation brought us the cards. And here my title begins to explain this criticism. Feeling three quarters of the map consisted of defensive meat dishes. Three fish dishes and a few meatless alternatives disappeared almost in the large Schnitzel, Filet, Roastbeef variety with roast potatoes. This is a good thing for most visitors (Grafschafter), but for a nice summer evening in a hotel with a claim and international crowd of visitors, it's a bit too little for me. But we were infused, my wife had a sense of meat, and I found a fish dish to tell me. On the way we ordered a potato-pepperling cream soup for my wife and a carpaccio from Angusrind for me. Both dishes were not good, at best sufficient. My wife's soup was only to be called a piffer soup with an extreme goodwill. No fungal aroma in the potato soup could not save the plentifully cut pifferlings anymore. A good potato soup with pice is not a mushroom soup for me. This requires a basic bouillion in which mushrooms have left their aroma. Not good! My carpaccio was very good. Well cooled, thin slices left joy. But only after I had removed the giant nest on Rauke. In such a quantity, rake is too bitter, so much can not be eaten. Even here almost perfect. The main course of my wife was cow on the meadow, ergo a rag steak from the Angusrind. And here the kitchen could shine. There came a perfectly cooked piece of beef to the table, medium prepared as it must be. Sufficiently mature and very delicate. Bon! With a delicious avocado mango dip, salad and roasted potatoes it was a good meal. That's what I had to say for my pann fish. Here crispy baked seaweed pieces, juicy inside, with a good mustard sauce on the plate. Delicious roast potatoes. Not exactly what the hamburger expects as a pann fish, but a good fish dish. I liked it. Here too the thumb went up. My wife abandoned a dessert in view of her two lush foods and was served a somewhat too cold espresso. I couldn't resist trying a variation of my favorite dessert that I hadn't tried. Crème brûlée with elder aroma. The Crème brûlée was an excellent preparation, only unfortunately completely without a hint of elder. I was a little disappointed again. Too bad. Joy made the wine card. In open wines the hotel had a very happy hand. I found a lot of pleasure in a tailor wine, a Riesling named Black Label. Even though I have always rejected this WG as a marketing product of the Sansibar, this Riesling makes joy. Delicious. The open Spätburgunder from WG Tesch was also fun. The wines reconciled me with the not so delightful food. Conclusion: A one-sided card, small weaknesses make me three points. Maybe we'll come back when it comes and can report on increase. She definitely needs it. The service made joy and the house is in every way in a impeccable condition."

"We visited the steakhouse as a large family group. We were greeted very warmly at the entrance and shown straight to our seats. We were well looked after by the staff for the rest of the evening. The menu includes, as you might expect, steak in a variety of forms with the classic sides such as steakhouse fries and beans with bacon. Additionally, a selection of Balkan specialties is offered and even some vegetarian options. The quality and presentation of the dishes is, in short, excellent! From the salad to the steak to the sauce, you can tell that the heart beats for good food here. In relation to the quality and the (very generous) portions, the prices here are very fair. Even though we live less than an hour away, we like to visit the Steakhaus am Zigenbrunnen again. The trip is worth it!"
