"Second night in Basel and we had the same problem again. Not many places with Swiss kitchen to eat and the available restaurants super expensive. Rossini was near were we stayed and we decided to give it a go, despite we were hesitant and decided to order 2 pizzas to take away. Unfortunately from the beginning we realized that this was not an Italian restaurant even thought the food was Italian. The person who was making the pizza was doing everything wearing his shirt and was not dressed accordingly as a chef or a cook to prepare the food. After 10 mins he left and went to the kitchen , started chopping ingredients and the lady who took our order continued and finished the pizzas. I guess is an everyone is doing everything situation, which is not very good, also from a hygiene point of view . As expected the pizza was not tasty at all and we ended up not eating it. I don't think we would visit this place again."

the gnocchi as always super! Unfortunately, the salat has been turned on for too long. Perhaps you should give the soße in the future separately. everything else perfect!

pizza with parmaschinken, parmesan and rucola was no longer hot and at a price of chf 27 I would have expected more, the rucola was completely fallen together, I did not notice the parmesan.

Went there for a pizza salad for lunch. The pizza was probably the worst I have ever had. Cheapest cheese, canned mushroom (with can taste.) The bread that came with the salad was burnt. The title says Italian but owners come from Asia Minor and serve their traditional food also. Disappointing experience, just avoid.

ciao, today I invited my daughter to eat on the lunchtime. "Where do we want to go to eat" I asked? she said that rossini about the corner is really good. we were kindly received and delivered our orders. As an appetizer we have a green salad.Head salad, chicoret, rucola, tomatoes with fresh crumbles and all smelled as a cream from the garden!"Not as in most restaurants where the salad comes directly from the refrigerator!" "Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
