"THE RESTAURANT The restaurant is located directly on the water and impresses with its stunning decoration as soon as the store will enter. It reminds of expeditions in Africa, South America and partly also Vikings. This is reflected not only in dark colors, but also in animals, boats and other decorations. That's how I imagine a classic seafarer pub. Still, I feel right now. RESERVATION I can make a reservation to the heart. We stayed there on a Sunday and can book a table in advance by phone. A later guest went home without a table. The audience was mixed colourfully. Mostly couples or smaller groups. PRICES Prices are high average. We have paid about 75€ for soft drinks, appetizers and main dish The toilets are clean and make a reasonable impression. We were brought to our place by a very nice and charmingly dressed man and got the cards directly. After we had ordered it took about five minutes until we got our drinks and 15 minutes later our cutlery. After that our appetizers came. My husband had chosen a potato soup, which tasted spicy and very degrading. I chose Labskaus myself. It was the probational portion, but it was clearly far too powerful and large. Tastefully, the Labskaus is very good, and anyone who has never eaten it should try it here. Another 20 minutes later came the main food. My husband chose a colourful plate and I chose a carving. There were frying potatoes, peas and sauce. Let's start with my husband's flesh. It was not tough or dry, for that the plate floats with liquid and it was a lot of fat. This was also true for roast potatoes, which were tastefully good. I just tried the sauce and left it right back. She tasted over spicy and was unfortunately not our case. The scavenger was large, had a good color, but partly tasted quite dry and in places very much after pepper. With Sauce this might have been nice, but so, a little bit lacked. The salad also seemed kind of displaced on the plate. Green on green and then so bitter salad?"

Just WOW! Restaurant has a really nice climate, but what is important, they know how to make fish! No joke, that was one of the best fish (sole) I ate each we had a dinner with a bunch of friends and all were very happy with his choice. A must in Flensburg!

a restaurant of special art, the inner a real maritime museum, dried fish, souvenirs from indien, Africa etc., from a former grandfather around 1890... the dishes are hearty and surprising. fresh seafood, genuine pommes not red, but orange, because made with sweet potatoes a great selection of beer and a price for everything more than respectable ... very low ... hut off

old-fashioned restaurant, stuffed with artifacts like stuffed animals. very large fish selection and very delicious fish! we had a large fish plate with really excellent fish & seafood (5 sorts plus crumbs and mosquitoes) and super value for money! service also friendly. only with the supplements (drumbs, icebergsalat as with mutti in the 80s) the kitchen weakens a bit - yet on the basis of the great fish a clear recommendation! in all the ports, the fish soup has to be one for me and when I read that this is prepared here after a 130 year old recipe, my joy barely knew yet limits. Although excellently compiled and spiced, I was somewhat disappointed. the taste reminded me more of the sweet soup than of borillas. The matjefilets Glücksstädter art, on the other hand, were a single dense, from the super-species matjes to the butter potatoes to the mini-moon. Since it was too much for my wife, I still came to a wonderful pale man's mouse. Conclusion: who the fish soup tastes as described here, he can remember the 5th point and eat there absolutely.

the plus points are: - a chance to taste the local food - cozy interieur or in warmer times the spacious outer for sitting outdoors - good portions for reasonable and sometimes expensive dishes (at least they are filled when they are finished) - friendly service the disadvantages are:- rather creepy and gloomy interior design and decorating taste (see photos). for a person who does not have the same interest, it is like a cemetery full of remains and skeleton, fishgrats and cocks, some strange taxidermie examples - a little expensive for the location, as Germany should be a good value for me to be service and money. just to illustrate this, we are a 4-headed family who had paid one pornstar.

"I went there yesterday for lunch while visiting Flensburg. Having beautiful spring weather I was a little hesitant to sit indoors (basement) but upon entering I felt welcomed and settled down for lunch. The restaurant's decor is nothing to write to home about. But the aromas coming from the kitchen smelled right! And we were there to eat.We ordered # 37. Korma Chicken (11,50 €) and #46. Daal Tarka (9,50 €) but since it was lunch time, both dishes cost 7,00 € each. The main courses were served along side a bowl of basmati rice. I just wish salad was included. With two ciders and 2 naans our bill totalled to 24 €.Being from Pakistan and eating home cooked Pakistani food, I was really impressed with their Korma. I have never enjoyed a korma in europe before. But this one tasted really good, it actually tasted of something! Of course the best korma you always get at home. But I will definitely be ordering it again at Shalimar. The daal was just as good. The highlights for us were the chicken korma and the baked naans. They had a bite to them and complimented the curries. The atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant was quite busy and looking around the guests all seemed to be complimenting their food. One thing I have to add, when you tell them how you want your food to be spiced, they actually listen. We asked ours to be hot and they were spiced hot. The waiter asked if I wanted extra green chillies and before I knew it, they were served along side. Something I wish other restaurants would actually do! Freshly finely chopped ginger (Adrak) gave Shalimar extra points in my book! Will we be returning? YES! - Remember, they don't take credit cards - cash only."
