"I ordered two £40 bottles of wine. Both of them were brought to me, and literally dumped on the table. Neither were offered to me, to try. One was a Chateau Neuf De Pape, which was fairly acceptable although overpriced. The other was a a Margaux, which was significantly past it's best, flabby, probably 3 years past it's best drinking age. I explained this to the waiter, and he had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. He was open about it he knew nothing about wine, at all. This at a restaurant that advertises itself as a steakhouse. Just incredible. My steak was significantly overcooked I asked for medium to well, I received something that would have been more at home at a beeteater pub. If you think this is a perfectly cooked steak, then you have absolutely no idea of how to cook one. Honestly, I'm genuinely bemused by the amazing reviews for this place. It's like it's a different restaurant. The one I attended is a competent harvester pub at best. That's an absolute mile away from a real, serious steak restaurant. Please do not encourage this by attending."

Fantastic food, a small restaurant so you may wish to book in advance. A hidden gem. Way better than all the bigger restaurants in the town centre. Forget those and eat here. Gorgeous food

My second visit , lovely ambience, staff were attentive and food very tasty. I have the rack of lamb which were very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant especially if you love steak

So disappointed!! I called the restaurant about 7pm to tell them I’d be late for my reservation at 8.30pm and I was told, in these words “no need to worry, we are not busy tonight so come whenever you want”. Nice guy I thought...

Very good restaurant with excellent and high quality food with a wide choice. Ambience is also good with room around the tables. Service was average but very friendly. The only problem was inexperienced waiters but obviously learning and will improve but as stated friendly and helpful. Recommended.

We really enjoyed the food, especially the steaks which were very tasty and cooked perfectly. Great selection of sides and a good wine list. Service side, some staff had knowledge of the menu but others did not. Starters took a while. Spelling on the menu also amusing Potterhouse steak Backed Camembert !
