"We had been here many times before but had recently felt the quality wasn’t so good. However, nice sunny day, so decided to go there for lunch. Queued for ages, only to find that there was no hot food. Basically the only vegetarian option was a cheese scone and there wasn’t much for non vegetarians). They would only take cash- the website says they will accept cards. That did not inconvenience us but the cheese scone was so stale and unpalatable that we couldn’t eat it. Decided to cut our losses and find somewhere else to eat. And won’t eat there ever again. But loo was clean. Ps Our visiting crow eventually flew off with a bit of scone."

Visited after listening to the Carillon in the park. Allow time to visit the museum attached to the Cafe.

We called in for a cuppa and a sit down whilst walking round the park. Friendly welcome and a good scone to accompany the coffee.

It is a lovely venue for a snack if the sun is shining. We sat outside. We had a baked potato and a toastie, which were both good. We would definitely go back. Voir le carte

Just what is needed here after a visit to the swings etc. Sells small lunches, snacks, ice cream and drinks at a decent price. Inside and outside seating plus a small museum to look round, I would recommend for all ages

Lovely to have a cafe in the park. It's right next to the museum and has seating indoor and outside too. Good selection of snacks and cakes and the pot of tea hit the mark after walking round the town for a while. A great place to relax and take a break.

Visited here early Saturday morning ordered a coffee and a bacon sandwich. Coffee was good but a capochino doesn't mean 1/2 A CUP OF COFFEE WITH THE OTHER HALF FROTH. However the bacon sandwich was poor cheap sliced bread with very little content. First impressions are vital and unfortunately you made a poor one . Staff seemed ok but not overly bothered to make a good impression. Voir le carte

I asked the price of a milkshake to be told £1.70. We went ahead and ordered 2. For this price I expected something much better than we got. For a start, was only a small tumbler glass, and to add to this initial disappointment, it was powdered milkshake that had barely even been stirred and dissolved when it was served. Staff were still very nice though. Just felt like I had been ripped off.

The café is next door to the town museum. The museum is excellent for social history for local people and visitors too. It also has the history of Ladybird books which brought back happy memories. We took a break and had a cheese and coleslaw and a ham and lettuce sandwich in the garden of the café. Both were fresh and reasonably priced. The café is next to the park which is well laid out with some interesting sculptures.
