"We stayed and ate here on a Monday night, so it was understandably quiet but not dead either). Staff on check in were great and the room was comfortable and clean but may be a little tired in places had some Victorian characteristics in places). For dinner I had the fish pie made in a Jamie Oliver style), which was the best I’ve ever had in a pub. It’s worth going just for that! Service was great, food was lovely. Slightly annoyingly the chalk boards were advertising a third off real ale and wine on Monday nights, which did not make its way on to the bill. When I asked, the discount was applied even though apparently we had ordered the wrong sort of wine ?? Discount doesn’t apply to bottles of wine that we also serve by the glass my bad, I should have checked before ordering our bottle rather than just reading the boards). Breakfast was also extremely good. Overall very enjoyable and good value for money. We will definitely stay again. Did I mention the Fish Pie ?!!"

Room was very good, clean tidy and modern, nice bed would have been better if the mattress was a double and not 2 singles bolted together, however slept well. Breakfast was good. Overall 9/10 room price was a little on the high side.

We went to this pub for Sunday lunch and were impressed by the delicious food and excellent service. Eleanor took great care of us and was both attentive and helpful. We had a wonderful dining experience and are excited to return for another visit.

Friendly pub with rooms. Really comfortable, well equipped rooms, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, good range of drinks on the bar, great secluded garden behind bar, cracking breakfast and the main food menu looked very tempting too, although we didn’t eat there other than breakfast.

Overnight stay. Small rooms but very comfortable bed and great shower. Nice touch complimentary wine and beer, plus very good free tea coffee. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast included in our deal. Lovely choice of fresh fruit, yogurts, etc as well as a cooked dish. We are used to living in the country so found the main road a bit noisy. Voir le carte

Went today for a Sunday Roast with the family. Amazing food, HUGE portions and great service along with a lovely ambience. I had the roast chicken, you get a whole leg and breast. Our daughter had the beef and said it was the best meat she’d ever eaten and my husband had the pork, which he demolished without saying a word through his meal. All in all, a lovely afternoon with delicious food

I stayed for one night for an event in Kingston and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The room had all the amenities we needed and more, was spotlessly clean, and had beautiful decor. We were pleasantly surprised to find complementary drinks in the mini fridge. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and a beautiful breakfast the next morning. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. I will definitely be returning and want to thank everyone for a wonderful break.

We have stayed at the Queens Head on several occasions and each visit never disappoints. The rooms are lovely, great shower and very comfortable bed. A nice touch this time was complimentary drinks including a bottle of beer and Prosecco as well as tea and coffee in our room. The breakfast is very good which includes a full English and a lot of other hot breakfast options as well as cereal and buffet options. The Manager Stuart and his staff all work hard to make you feel welcome. Thanks again, we will return. Voir le carte

What a delightful experience from start to finish! This place is a hidden gem! We needed a place to stay near a wedding at Hampton Court, and we were welcomed with great hospitality as soon as we arrived. The decor is trendy and the atmosphere is just right. The staff were lovely and helpful, the breakfast coffee was amazing, and the room was cozy and impeccably clean with nice extra touches like artisan chocolates, a coffee machine, teas, and water included in the room rate. On top of that, there was a mini bottle of bubbly and a beer in the mini bar, as well as fresh milk in a glass bottle. The shower and toiletries were great, parking was easy, and the bed was super comfortable. Definitel...

My family and I stayed at The Queen's over the Christmas holiday and we could not have felt more at home in this charming pub, dinning room and 10-bedroom boutique hotel. The breakfast spread in the morning always set us up for the day ahead with the full English my sons' preferred choice. Eleanor, Anna, Jay, Felix, Holly and Sylvia were such warm, friendly hosts and never skimped on looked after us even during the busy festive period. The team was very flexible in accommodating us and were instrumental in extending our stay when we needed to. May I also add checking in and checking out was a breeze, The Queen's Head team are super-responsive on email, and we provided us with parking for our...

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
