"This place holds HUNDREDS of peeps and has a private chambre for parties, events, etc. They have an outside area that holds another 50-75 peeps. They brew their own bier "Barmbeker" which has a hint of citrus to it and can be sold in a recyclable bottle. If you bring it back, they refill it for you for a small fee. This place was part of a hospital before it was renovated into the current shopping/restaurant area.We arrived for lunch.....around 1400(2pm) and their were only a few guest. If this place is full, I can't imagine the noise level.I ordered a Turkey filet with potato, sour cream, chives & veggies. It was grilled to perfection & very tasty, side salad was served before the Entree, all fresh. I ordered a MASS Bier, which is the very large Bier (1 Liter glass)The place begin to fill up with the afterwork crowd but the servers attention level never changed. Very nice lunch experience.Seat at the back of the restaurant near the ceiling to floor windows or outside on the patio on a nice day and look into the newly renovated flats and hospital grounds.Definitely will go back, if nothing else for the Bier!"

Had dinner at Q21 with my plus friends a while ago. Had a huge Schnitzel with fries and my wife had a Cordon Bleu. Big servings will guarantee that you won´t leave hungry and the overall quality was good. To get a higher score I could wish more sauce for our dishes.

Very nice Gastropub. Nice selection of brews. Good sized portions of food. Large outdoor patio in the back. We'll designed interiors. The staff were helpful with translation of the menu and answering questions. Highly recommend the generous portion of Apple crumble with vanilla sauce.

We arrived on a Sunday for brunch, 4 of us. We ordered the buffet and 4 coffees and juice, we were well done by the time the coffee arrived, 30 minutes! The server just said it a full day. And then brought out 2 more drinks, that were mentioned to have been out of stock.Really bad experience, not going back. Voir le carte

Visited with family and friends and we really enjoyed our brunch. Prices a little high and some of the hot items on the buffet were not really being kept very warm, otherwise the choice was very good and the food nice and tasty. Coffee was a little bitter and too strong for my taste. The cafe itself was very large so no problem getting a seat. Decor was really nice too.

Visited this place with my German colleague - good place to relax and have a long chat after work day. Casual atmosohere, friendly staff, decent vegetarian options made it a great evening out for me. Sumptuous portions for everyone - Schnitzel was appreciated by colleagues, I was quite happy with my Veggie burger (Halloumi with veggies). We stayed for over 3 hours and reasonably priced compared to another restaurants we visited.

This place was recommended to us and we went here for a quick bit and a beer. They serve home brewn beer - Barmbeker - which I really liked! I tried the Hamburger Panfisch - 3 types of fish fillet served on baked potatoes with a mustard sauce. Really nice, although some bones were still left in the fish and I was a bit surprised... The place is off the beaten track, so I believe it is more common with locals. Very good prices and nice service. Voir le carte

We came here with 4 adults and two small kids for the weekend brunch. I can only recommend to be there at the time the restaurant opens. Otherwise it will be very busy, drink orders take a long time and there will be empty spots on the buffet table. The restaurant itself appears nice but the brunch buffet concept is not really working that well. Too little choices in my opinion, not good quality and overcrowded. I could imagine to try a lunch or dinner here, I can imagine it to be much nicer.

It was unfortunate for me that this place only opened recently and I just discovered it during my last week of several years of regularly working in this area of Hamburg.First the beer, a good selection, some of which is brewed specially for the house. The food, was some of the best bar food I have had in Hamburg, and I would certainly recommend the tender Cordon Bleu on pesto mash which I had.The bar itself is spacious, with some big tables suitable for big groups, and the staff are friendly and attentive. It is hard to do much better in Hamburg without going upmarket.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
