"I just wanted to express my gratitude to the staff at this restaurant. On Monday, October 9th, 2023, approximately 30 of us gathered here to celebrate the life of my recently deceased father. This was his favorite dining spot, so it felt very appropriate. I want to give a special mention to the woman who warmly welcomed us and went above and beyond to make our experience special. We had the place to ourselves and were able to choose from impeccably clean rooms to dine in. In addition to tending the bar, she also served our food and provided hot drinks. The meal consisted of plentiful and fresh sandwiches and cakes. It was a lovely, stress-free occasion, made even better by this woman, whose name I unfortunately did not get. On behalf of my family, thank you very much for your exceptional service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Not been here for a few years having come to the conclusion that the food was overpriced and inconsistent in quality. Decided to give it another go to support the new owner. Sadly, nothing has changed. Mains are typically £15 which is ok if they are expertly cooked and of a decent portion size. The menu is not that exciting. Regular pub grub. I decided to go for the burger and asked the waitress if it was cooked to order or reheated like my last visit. Having being reassured it was, i anticipated a juicy treat. Unfortunately it was dry and barely edible. I did not complain as i was celebrating a birthday and did not want to spoil the atmosphere. After the meal our party compared experiences. Nobody scored their meal above 5 out of 10. I did report my concern at the bar upon departure as constructive feedback, and was listened to. On a positive note, the service was good and the vibe was pleasant."

"We called in for an impromptu lunch whilst in the area. It was mid week so quiet to start but did fill up slowly. We sat on the terrace to dine al fresco as it was a hot September day and the views were uninterrupted and peaceful. There was some nice, unobtrusive music playing in the background adding t9 the ambience. I ordered the steak frites and hubby the steak ale pie. Both were plentiful on the plate, and the pie was definitely home made, it reminded me of my grandmother serving up out of the old blue white pie dish with its thick crust and chunks of beef! I enjoyed the steak frites and there was a good amount of both…and a good serving boat of peppercorn sauce. Every member of staff we encountered were helpful, polite, happy and smiling. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The dishes were priced comparatively to other similar establishments. My slight gripe was that there was only one table parasol available on the decking area, which we luckily had use of, as it was very hot sitting unshaded."

"My sister and I recently dined at the Bistro for the first time. The restaurant had a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere and the staff were friendly. The menu had a good variety of options and the food we ordered was excellent - delicious and beautifully presented. However, we were disappointed by two things. The restrooms were not as clean as expected, with a leaky pipe and one unclean toilet. Additionally, we had some issues with the service. While our first drink and food arrived promptly, we had to wait a long time to get the waitresses' attention for a second drink. Despite asking for lattes, they never arrived and we eventually had to cancel them when we paid the bill. The waitress explained that they had run out of milk and someone had gone to fetch some. Despite these inconveniences, I would consider visiting again in the hopes of improved service. However, if the restaurant were busier, I fear that other customers may also experience similar issues and potentially leave."

"we went as a family of 4 for dinner and although eating was ok the smoke tunnel to come out and was not great. positive there is a good selection of food and drinks. the service was good and the personal. was happy to recommend eating. the seating area on the back is fantastic and a large space for everyone. the game area was also a great addition and we were happy that our children play from the field of view. a friendly and safer place. negative the only way in and out of the rear seat area is through a door that is part of the staff and I assume that regular blocking. they all smoke and it was quite disgusting to have to go through them (especially if they have built a smoker zone in the back garden). the smoke went also into the kitchen, as the door was open far next to them. this is a good place to eat and drink, and the children's/outside is fantastic. we would like to visit again."
