"I called ahead to check if the butcher had any lamb legs available and was informed that they did, but was advised not to wait too long to come in. Arriving within thirty minutes, I requested a lamb leg only to be told that none had been pre-cut and that I would have to return later. The young man assisting me appeared embarrassed when I mentioned my previous phone call. He informed a senior butcher who reluctantly prepared a piece for me, which turned out to be about 30% bone, including pelvic bone - not what one would typically expect in a lamb leg. The quality of the lamb itself was average at best. I have never encountered a butcher who seemed hesitant to prepare meat or requested that I return at a more convenient time for them. Furthermore, the price was not cheap for such mediocre meat. This was not the first time I had experienced this kind of service, as a similar situation occurred last Christmas when I was told to come in person to order a ham joint, only to be informed upon arrival that there were none left. I will not be returning to this establishment."

Great shop and helpful staff but I have been very dissappointed with the quality of their beef recently..too young not properly hung etc. Today just gave it a miss from looking at it. A shame. Rest of meat still top class.

Only been shopping here since locked down and have been very impressed. Their email order and collection system is great and really easy to use. high quality meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. friendly staff. the shop also has a series of craft cheese, biscuits and jams. there is also a selection of the bakery articles. the connected caffe makes good breakfast, but I'm not sure how their lunches are like I didn't eat there. her leisure role is far and away the best in bangor.

Went for my breakfast while I my son was a school it was my first time visiting the place. The coffee shop has a lovely welcoming feel! Very clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and chatty from walk in -to paying the bill.I ordered the french toast and bacon with maple syrup. Diet Coke and a coffee and it was really good! I definitely come here again! Well done girls! Great service!!

"Tl;dr this chef and this team are on their way to a Michelin star, so get a reservation while you can. We visited here Saturday 29, where we enjoyed the tasting menu by current chef John Hollywood. Their tasting menu is averagely priced, comparable to Dublin’s Bastible, with 6 courses actual, and plenty of wine. Aside from the setup, nothing else is average. The staff at Boat House are second to none. The atmosphere is similar to Hof van Cleve, with chirpy, witty staff happily serving customers and following the mood of the table. Their sommelier and wine pairing is particularly special, with each bottle subverting the trend, unexpected, but without compromising on quality (see: Bastible cannot figure out wine). Their sommelier is a wine nerd who’s happy to go into as much depth as you want, but you feed off the passion between courses, which is a really great dynamic between the staff and the table this is rare, usually only achieved at top star restaurants. I’ve never found this in the island of Ireland. The food itself is the perfect mix of foraged from land and sea, each dish testing and surprising you, but with some classics mixed in (beef Barolo your reward for trusting the chef). On the whole, the menu seems designed to subvert comfort you in equal measure, and succeeds with every course. You won’t find the same level of experimentation from many of the Italian tasting menus on the circuit, but that comes with the assurances of consistent quality and a journey that’ll never let you down, where subversive wine pairings inject a level of exciting chaos without risking the food. Between the atmosphere, staff, and chemistry at the table in the kitchen, a trip to Boat House can be held in the same regard as some of the world’s top Michelin star restaurants. They’re on the way. They have the ingredients, whether you know it or not. Better start those birthday reservations now."
