Port Of Call - Carte

Don’t go there I used to be a chef there for few days They do chicken which is out of the date 3 days . Kitchen is very dirty all over it’s grease. They don’t even pay for job you done Service it’s awful

A friend and I popped in here for a drink whilst out shopping. The service and staff were great. The place was also clean and the toilets were spotless (which I think is important). I plan to return to have a meal in the near future.

Attended my daughters engagement party, the buffet was excellent lots of choice and very tasty. The venue was an excellent choice with a good disco, with music to suit every age group. The staff on duty were very pleasant and experienced, Great night. Voir le carte

Visited as a couple for Sunday lunch both ordering the pork belly with crackling. Pork belly certainly doesn’t come with crackling more like soggy fatty leather. Food was cold and veg that’s supposed to come on a side dish did not come had to ask for some. Over all very disappointing.

Been coming here for years now but decided to write a much deserved review Service is always second to none even though it’s always busy,the staff are always smiling,the food is always seasoned to perfection and plentiful,we ask to tweak the menu sometimes and it’s always granted without any trouble and the portions are always huge so you get enough to takeaway for later

Was hoping to be wowed by the Greek Plate when checking out photographs of new menu. I mentioned I was heading for lunch and a colleague was jealous, saying her friends love it, but I was so disappointed with what should have been a fantastic, fresh dish. Would not come back for any food. Drinks were nice but glasses were a little dirty. Not good when staff playing games on bar servery instead of checking guests. Voir le carte

We hired the top floor for our engagement party. I can’t recommend this venue enough! I had family and friends travel from all over (liverpool, middlesbrough, Hartlepool) as well as our Sunderland friends and family. Everyone has commented on how lovely the venue was, how amazing the bar staff were and just overall how great the evening was. I really can’t thank the staff at Port of call enough for helping us celebrate our engagement!

Brilliant! We were going to the theatre we were stuck for somewhere to eat as many places were fully booked. We were recommended this bar/restaurant by someone who was queuing for another restaurant so decided to give it a go. The Burgers were as good as any we have had in this type of place the service was great. No sooner had we finished our meal the table was cleared. £25 for 2 burgers with fries salad was well worth it , look forward to our next visit!

First time visited for a family celebration. We didn’t realise how busy it would be which we admit was our fault but where we were sat was dark and dingy, the noise was absolutely HORRENDOUS,the food was not good at all. After we had finished or should I say left our food we sat forever to have the plates and empty glasses to be removed and in the end had to go to the bar and ask for someone to clear the tables. This is not the service we expected especially from a city centre venue. The staff we had any dealings with were not friendly which didn’t help how we felt our experience had left. Sadly we would not return and would not recommend to our friends. Voir le carte
