"I was surprised to find a Greek restaurant close to my mom's home town of Bretzenheim (a suburb of Mainz . We went there with our relatives back in May 2010, and I've been back twice since. The most recent visit was in January 2013 with...my mom's cousins to celebrate a birthday. This time we each ordered our own meals (instead of one of the fantastic group meals for a change of pace, and I was pleased again. Delicious meats and vegies (their salad is fantastic , a nice wine list to choose from, and a pleasant indoor seating area in the cold of winter. Knowledge of a few key German menu items will help you when choosing your meal. If your German is rusty (or non existent? simply look up a few key words for foods you enjoy, and you're sure to find it on their extensive menu. (If there are foods you really don't like be sure you know how to recognize those too . Enjoy!"

plaka is definitiw one of the best Greek restaurants in mainz. Even the place was completely crowded we were served in a fast friendly way and eating was simply delicious. it is really a good recommendation to go there. Voir le carte

After a long and tiresome day we tried to have a meal and a nice sleep and of course what better than Greek eat. it was good in taste, fast and so much! the only disappointing part was that they did not accept credit cards!

Excellent food, very good selection. Different, pleasant seating areas--we were able to sit outside on a balmy summer evening, but there is also a covered open seating area for a thundery day. And there is plenty of room inside, nicely decorated.

the plaka convinces with a good price performance concept. the portions are very large and you will definitely be fed. in some meat, however, the taste suffers a little. for friends it is well suited, but you can not impress with the restaurant. the service could be more friendly. the table was unfortunately not clean at arrival. We were in Mainz for a 5 day period of time and ate in this restaurant 3 times. The first was our choice, the other two were scheduled there by organizers of the conference we attended. We would not have gone back after our first...visit. Full disclosure we are vegetarians. In our experience elsewhere, Greek restaurants often provide a number of flavorful options. This one did not!

we were here a few times in the last months, just because eating is good and the personal is friendly. for our last visit we were 14, then 16, then 18... and each time we called to increase the reservation they are. still managed to fit us, although completely full. with the big party we shared mixed starter plates and the really well grilled oktopus. we chose a many number of netzens that were all well received. the grilled inkfish was soft and came with the right amount of friend kartoffel and tsatziki.

"we thought it was time that four years ago opened patagonia in the mainzer neustadt to test. the bus and tram connection is excellent, the parking situation is very difficult. there is an outside area at the restaurant, and the dining room is large and clear. because the guests were distributed outside and inside, the reservation about opentable would not have been necessary. so we were allowed to choose a table and were welcomed by the two ladies in the service friendly. we found a rectangle with a view of a large flatscreen, on which a diashow of pictures ran from patagonia, which first triggered television. steaks are offered in all variations, and the selection is quite difficult. we first took three empanadas with different fillings that relatiw quickly came out of the kitchen and taste very good.My wife decided in the main course for a rumpsteak of the even medium rare with grill potatoes and salad. I had previously researched the card in the internet and asked myself what a flap steak was. wikipedia helped and so I knew it was a cut that is very common in patagonia and comes very close to the us sirloin strip. I wanted to try this and ordered it **** in the bloom. I took a foil potato. both supplements were handed with the obligatory sourcream with coriander. the two supplemental salads were fresh, colourful and crisp, with the carrots also liked as a supplement. Even with critical consideration, the performance was in all respects of expectations: the services were extremely friendly and stood also in the meat selection with rat and did the side. the we chose to be perfectly met. confusingly I found the hints in the menu on the recommended per steak. these were all together and especially between medium and well done. that was not comprehensible for me because of the top quality of meat, all in all a very successful evening with a quite reasonable price-performance ratio. we like to come back to patagonia."
