"If you have ever been to Italy you will recognise Oregano as being authentic in every respect- the interior and table decorations are plain and decidedly un-fancy, but don't let the plastic table covers stop you from getting the best Italian food in Islington. Everything about this place transports me to Florence; The wine is served in dinky tumblers, the beers are Italian brands such as Nastro Azzuro, the staff are all Italian born and bred, the bread basket contains grissini in plastic packaging, and the food Oh the food The pizzas- out of this world. Proper wood fired thin crust pizzas with top quality produce on them; from the home-made tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella to the chargrilled peppers and various meats used, everything is fresh, delicious and so vastly superior to the usual pizzas we get unceremoniously flung at us in this country that it's a wonder any of the other pizza purveyors in Islington are still in business- I guess being tucked down an alleyway and looking rather unimposing means Oregano is a well kept secret. As for the rest of the menu, everything is incredible. The pasta is made fresh on the premises and comes with authentic Italian sauces such as the knee-knockingly delicious ragu. The steaks are chargrilled and huge, the fish is fresh and light- I challenge anyone to go here and not have a fantastic, cheap, grin inspiring meal. I would love to give Oregano more praise but I'm getting hungry just thinking about the place, but I'll end with one more insight into just how fantastic, relaxed and, without wanting to sound cheesy, quaint this place is- the staff put up with me practising my Italian on them whenever I come into the restaurant, saving me money on expensive refresher lessons after stopping my linguistic studies many years ago. Friendlier, more attentive staff cannot be found in any other Islington eatery, guaranteed, and if you can prove me wrong I'll eat my hat [as long as it comes smothered in that heavenly ragu]."

The pizzas were pretty good but wouldn't go quite as far as some of the other rave reviews. Slight style difference (good chewy, slightly charred, light base but a thinner, fresher sauce) between some other nearby places but they are all good in my book. Pricing reasonable and good service too.

This is one of my favorite pizza places in London. As their description states, they offer generous portions and prioritize quality and taste. They consistently meet my expectations and I always come here when I'm in the mood for pizza. The pizzas are delicious, with a thin crust that has a satisfying crunch. The pasta dishes are also fantastic, with perfectly cooked al dente noodles and delicious flavor. The staff here is top-notch, always friendly and welcoming.

Nonpretentious and serves really good pizza. What more do you need to know? Seriously, REALLY good pizza ... As stated by my friend: better than any pizza I 've had outside of Rome and that is a very bold statement. Until you try their seafood pasta cooked in tin foil. I now crave it on a weekly basis. Thanks a lot. It 's in the alley next to slash behind Euphoria Bakery .. and they are normally only open for dinner .... but the place is so good it 's worth the wait. Voir le carte

Hidden in a charming alley off Upper Street, Oregano feels like a hidden gem known only to locals. The decor may not be outstanding, but it's not off-putting either. The service is decent, and the real highlight is the delicious wood-fired pizza with great toppings that won't break the bank. Despite its popularity, Oregano tends to stay busy, which adds to its appeal. The only downside is that there isn't much to set it apart from the many other dining options on Upper Street, unless you're simply looking for something different.

Went tonight at Pizzeria Oregano as my parents and I were in Angel, and Yelp said it was nice as one does, right? Well, I ate. A lot. A lot a lot. It was really nice, what I like to call and consider authentic italian cuisine packed on a Saturday night, very casual, good prices. Relatively simple dishes, but with a lot of taste and very good products. The downside being that everything was literally swimming in oil, and it was all really a bit too heavy. So definitely not a place to go if you 're watching your waste line (which I am supposed to do, really) This is a generous 4 star because the food was really good and the service good.

This local pizza place is simple and unassuming. My partner and I stopped by on a Saturday night and were able to find a table easily, as the restaurant is tucked away on a quiet side street. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary plate of delicious marinated olives at the start of our meal. We decided to order the orecchiette broccoli e salsiccia pasta (broccoli and sausage) and the Toscana pizza (salami, pecorino, tomatoes, and basil). Both dishes were tasty, although we wished there was a bit more broccoli in the pasta. I also tried a special beer called Isaac, which was fantastic - my partner even enjoyed it. The service was friendly, although there was some confusion wh... Voir le carte

It is a tucked away pizza place off Upper St. I am really glad its here! From the outside the place looks extremely attractive (blue neon light, it can't escape you). Inside the deco and ambience, well? it can best be described as a diner so I really was not expecting much of the food. But you can't judge a book by its cover, can you? The food made up for any shortcoming in the interiors and the not so funny waiter. There is not only a good selection of traditional wood fired pizzas, but also a long list of luscious pasta, including home made lasagna and my favourite Linguine al Cartoccio. Pasta with clams, mussels, calamari, white wine sauce and parsley served in tin foil. I am telling you...

My boyfriend and I went here today for lunch and were very pleased. For me, it was the best pizza I've had so far in London (I must say I haven't researched enough on that, as I've donde on ice creams parlours . The base was incredibly thin, it probably defied some laws of Physics, and I love that in a pizza. The ingredients were also superb. I don't remember the names of the pizzas we ordered, but mine had cherry tomatoes, provolone (apart from usual tomato sauce and mozzarella and rocket. They were very fresh, especially the rocket, with plenty of flavour, so delicious. The other pizza had parma ham, very nice, and mushrooms (maybe too few and too small ones . Price was OK, I think, becaus...
