"we have just returned from an excellent meal in the restaurant in caerwylan hotel. we booked it on the basis of tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. our eating was absolutely first advice. we would recommend the mango Prawn court and the terrine. as start the fish and the lamb main courses and the panna cotta as dessert; we would be very surprised if the other courts in the offer were not equally good. service was also very good. all employees were pleasant and efficient. we had coffee in the lounge with a fantastic view of the sea. it was our first day in criccieth so we can't compare it with other restaurants in the city, but it was a great start to our short high season in wales."

"We arrived early, so maybe that’s why we had to wait a while before we were asked for our order. It certainly wasn’t VERY busy. I ordered the fish cake as a starter, which was quite large and well presented. Perhaps could have done with a touch more seasoning to really bring out the flavours. My mains was the lamb, which was superb, possibly the best I’ve ever had, and came with plenty of veg. Husband had the pasta with mushrooms. I’d warned him that it might be a smallish plate, and he could be left feeling hungry, but how wrong was I. He had to leave some as he was full. Puds were good, and the wine was good value. Total bill was reasonable, and we left feeling we had had a great quality meal for a fair price. I only wish we had such a good restaurant near where we live. Well done, Poachers!"

"Lovely little pub in cricceth North Wales with a lovely atmosphere and the food was nice and filling after a walk on the beach. Tried the roast dinner and it was decent, felt the gravy was out of a tub, would have topped the meal off lovely with lovely a nice meat juice gravy. Kids ate southern fried chickens and beef burgers and had no complaints. Also the kids lasagne was nice with a Herby flavour. Sprouts were rock hard though and stuffing couldn't had a bit longer in the oven to give it a crispier edge. Would recommend and will go back . Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Absolute favourite place to go when in Wales, the nicest ice cream you will taste and such a welcoming team of staff. Not only are their ice cream and deserts amazing, but they’re lunches are so delicious and filling too and such a great price. With a great atmosphere and beautiful sea views you really can’t compare anywhere else and as an added bonus it’s also dog friendly, which is ideal for many!!"

"Friendly staff, nice space inside, and the coffee and breakfast was quite good. Just a couple things personally i think breakfast would be much improved by providing proper yeast free sourdough (rather than hovis et al. , and other touches like in house made tomato beans, hash browns and veggie sausages. Especially if you 're pricing it like that. Service was also quite unnecessarily slow, seemed like they couldn 't work out how to manage the flow (and it wasn 't particularly busy . Feel bad giving three so here 's 4stars :"
