We love the bread from Mark Bennett bakery in Lilliput. Always choose the sourdough or mixed sourdough and often have baguettes. We try to get there early enough as these all sell out.

It’s very busy for a reason lovely stuff! Great selection of ‘made to order’ sandwiches, traditional pastries and some you won’t find anywhere else including a strawberry danish pastry like no other!

This place is amazing. The sourdough baguettes are unique and delicious. I will definitely be stopping here before going to the beach next time to pick up some food and cakes. Highly recommend trying it out. Voir le carte

My husband and I come here often for there coffee and Avocado/chilli jam on toast. The food display here is wonderful as is the friendliness of the staff! This year we had a christmas cake from them and we have to say it was the best we have ever had and will definitely be ordering another next year. In the mean time we will continue to support this wonderful Independant shop. Well Done Team!

absolutely terrible two prawn sandwiches disgusting the prawns were so chewy i was nearly sick and i ordered white bread got brown when reported to staff member just left there to ponder state of floor dirty untidy never again i will tell all i come into contact with needs some real health issues i should go and might go to health an safety as took pregnant daughter for a sarnie and coffee daughter totally agreed daughter was the one who complained with no manager or head staff member showing presence so stay clear is my advice

This patisserie is a definite to sample. Pre-order the day before to ensure you can have the sandwich of your choice. My son and I tried a Tuscan Sandwich (delicious), Almond Croissant (utterly gorgeous) and a Danish Pastry swirl with a beautiful glaze. Their pasty is really tasty and their Rocky Road and cheese-cake and millionaire shortbread are soooo good. We used the Lilliput branch but there are others around locally. In the first year, our order was not packed and we received only part of it. The next year, they started our order but ran out of bread, which was disappointing. This year, we were told to go to the shop to place an order with no rush, as they had plenty of everything. However, when we arrived the next day, they had run out of Christmas cakes and puddings, despite what we were told. We paid for and ordered 12 mince pies but only received 9. This is unacceptable and I will be requesting a partial refund. Make sure to double check your order with this restaurant. If their products were not good, they wouldn't last long. As the title says, had very nice cake and coffee, no issue at all. However due to a poor staff attitude I thought I’d check Trip Advisor after the visit and see what others thought. Sure enough and rather sadly it appears to be a common theme. So in my professional opinion the issue at the Lilliput MB is the man in charge. He doesn’t appear to understand that customers (the people who pay his salary) can both see and hear him. Seemed very uninterested in engaging with people who where actually trying to be complementary and more interested in barking orders to his staff. The other side effect of poor leadership is that it has a knock on effect with the girls as they take their lead from him....

My wife and I had seen MB Patisserie on Facebook several times and were impressed by the look of it. With a few days off together, we decided to drive over from Bridport for a treat and chose this shop because it was the most convenient for us to get to. The shop itself was nice, with a decent selection (although not as extensive as we had expected), and the food was really good – just as good as any similar places we had been to before. However, it was disappointing to find that the staff were incredibly rude.
