"I can't claim to be an expert in Persian cuisine or restaurants - those I have visited before seemed either brilliant or crummy. Unfortunately, Pars tends towards the latter end of the spectrum. The appealing, traditional decor and friendly staff don't compensate for the uninteresting food, which I found far inferior to an average Asian takeaway, for example. I ordered 'Persian style cheeses' as an appetizer, but there was only one kind of cheese served (the kind that used to be called Feta before it was protected by D.O.P. rules), in an otherwise healthy but bog-standard plate of salad, apart from some walnut pieces and dried-out raisins. The main course was even more dreary: I ordered a stew of potatoes, split peas and aubergine, which came in a sauce that was overly sour and distinctly bitter, due perhaps to the aubergine or maybe the over-use of citrus peel. It was topped, bizarrely, by a sprinkling of matchstick-sized potato sticks that went soggy in the sauce. The spices were otherwise nondescript, and the accompanying huge plate of plain rice with a sprinkling of yellow ('saffron'?) supplied only calories. At least the local beer was good, as everywhere else in Munich. Pars is accessed down some dingy stairs. If, like me, you are staying at Ibis, and just want something close, I'd nevertheless suggest to go further afield in search of satisfying fare."

Walking in, one descends the stairs to this basement restaurant that is decorated like a Persian locale. Excellent food.

Gute Grilltellergerichte. Ist halt kein Restaurant für den Sommer, weil halt im Keller liegend und sehr dunkel, aber die Speisen selbst haben mich überrascht. Voir le carte

I had lunch the service was really good and fast the decorations was amazing , food was fair the shrimp was not fresh . Rice doesn't taste like Iranian rice . Other things and starters was tasty

I'm on vacation with my 4 year old son. we stay in the hotel next to this restaurant and, as it rained, I decided to try it. I like to try new foods and my son as long as a restaurant...rice has, he's happy. it has not taken so much from outside, but then they go down the stairs and find them a beautiful place, very beautifully decorated. I've read about Persian food, but I didn't have the opportunity to eat it often. the waiter was very nice and helped me choose. the food was really good and this time my son has eaten more than rice. it was really a good surprise.
