Be advised, even though they accept tennis shoes and T shirts worn by the mostly American diners, they do not accept open dressy shoes. The restaurant staff was attentive, the front desk staff was unacceptably rude and non professional for a luxury hotel.

Spectacular balcony table overlooking Taormina Ionian Sea and boats, magnificent 7 course degustation dinner; special wedding anniversary occasion. We enjoyed one of the last nights the restaurant was open for the season. Though a tiny bit chilly it was spectacular to have dinner on the patio overlooking the grounds, the towns of Taormina and Catania and the sea. The view can hardly be matched anywhere. a wonderful evening. the presentation of each plate was exquisite and thoroughly explained by our waiter, giuseppe, which added enormously to pleasure. the wee recommendation of veronica, the sommelier, was perfect. our only disappointment that was due to the weather to dine inside instead of on the panoramic terrace. overall a thoughtful gesture at the end when we celebrated our high-time day, further improved by a very pleasant and unforgettable experience. Food and staff were amazing. However, I felt that we were rushed to finish courses early so that they could fit all dishes within the expected time frame. I think it's a big disadvantage in such a restaurant. We wanted to enjoy courses and wine, have a nice experience from it, but we were served 8 dishes in less than 2 hours. I didn't eat any last dishes because I was so full. It was not our first experience in such a restaurant and in other restaurants the dinner lasted much longer. Too bad we were able to book a table earlier, for example, at 7 p.m. (the restaurant is open from 20 and we could get a table at 21 p.m.) as we not only expect food to be excellent, but to enjoy whole experience...

We were so looking forward to experiencing this restaurant at the Timeo, but we were disappointed. Of course, the setting is beautiful and the waitstaff was attentive. But, the food? Meh. I don 't understand how they merited a Michelin star. They asked what kind of food we liked for the special tasting menu. We said beef and seafood. So, every course was either seafood or vegetarian (no meat). Each dish was served at room temperature and none of it was special. In particular, we did not care for the eggplant, which appeared to be pureed. Here 's what we liked: the bread and the wine (the sommelier was great). And, the dessert was fine.
