"Our party of six sat down at 19.05, drinks and food order was taken and drinks delivered promptly, my red wine was old, tired and undrinkable, then waited, and waited for our food, with an interim request from the waiter for more drinks, and finally food was delivered at 20.00. My wife had the sea bass, which was burnt, with the rosti potato nothing but a sad oil loaded slab; untouched. My Thai chicken curry reminded me of the “good old days” when boil in the bag was popular, with this dish not at all fresh tasting, so not finished. Only one of our party left a clean plate when we were finished, with two having the burger and leaving at least half of it, then more waiting for our plates to be cleared away, this around 20.40, and given we had eight and 11 year olds with us made the waiting more frustrating. When asked about the meal, since so much had been left, we told them politely what we thought and they did at least deduct one meal and drink from the bill, but, a wasted evening out. We thought better of ordering desserts and the highlight of our evening was dropping into Sainsbury’s on the way back home to pick up desserts. Service was poor throughout, only matched by the food; we will not be returning."

"Love Biggles Lounge, never had Indian food that compares to what they dish up here. Great that they remember repeat customers and have helped me out by checking that I hadn't forgotten something off my normal order (I had and they saved me from the disappointment! . "Visited here whilst passing through. Having used a venue from the same company previously, we kinda knew what to expect, but was disappointed here. The service was lackadaisical, the food not much better. Had to ask for the Beans to be heated up (were cold) and also had to ask for butter for the toast. The Eggs were ‘rubbery’. The Staff seem to almost run away from your table not wanting to engage or wait for any further requests. The Christmas music was far too loud and sounded more like a disco venue. At nearly £50 we’d have expected much better. Parking: One hour free parking outside. If you can find a space that is!"

"As you'll see from my review history, I very very rarely post a bad review except in exceptional circumstances. This was one of these. I was expecting a lovely three course meal in a cosy pub out of London, based on the reviews. We were looking for a bit of a treat, as I was catching up with an old colleague (of a charity we both worked for) and her partner (CEO of a Mental Health charity). However I was severely dissappinted and appalled at how they treated us. The barman was gracious on arrival but the waitress who served us (couldn't have been much over 16) was absolutely clueless and seemed to not care about her job or the customers under her service. She was clueless about the menu when queried and kept having to nip off to the kitchen to ask, whilst giving us strange looks for having questions about the food/ breads/ menu. We felt judged, immediatly. When the food finally arrived we had ordered a sharing Camembert. The camembert was delicious but the bread it came with was burnt, unevenly sliced and looked, quite simply, like it was from the bottom of the barrel. Why the chef thought that exceptable to serve I have no idea. Not a good start. Next I had a vegetarian main (curry with cauliflower rice), from a very limited veggie menu. Quite frankly, it was bland. I make much better at home. When chased, the service was rude and the landlady/ manager was abrupt with us for having some issues, despite us being warm and kind to her always giving the pub the benefit of the doubt. I was not even offered a dessert menu. Finally, the ambience was soul sucking. It was quiet and joyless, like eating in an old folks home. In fact some people near us got told to quieten down, despite it being early on a Saturday evening. Just such a shame that the staff and food don't live up to the hype. Genuinely would not recommend this place to anyone. Not worth your time, energy. Vegetarian options: Poor. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Got a little confused where the entrance was and tried to open a locked door, oops! Regardless, we managed to enter and ordered a sharing starter and pizzas. The sharer was massive, and judging by the other patrons orders, all the starters were large. The starter was fabulous and the wine paired well. Sadly, we then had an hour wait til our pizza, but it was Friday night. However, the pizzas were divine. I would have preferred a little more seasoning in the meatballs, but I am nitpicking. The waiting staff were extremely friendly and clearly competent, but my only complaint was the speed, was just too slow. However, definitely check this place out! There is also free parking on Rose Lane after 6pm, which is close by."
