The food was excellent today, especially my flavorful smoked mushroom chili. The service was outstanding, thanks to Amy!

What a great atmosphere, great service, great drinks and a great live act; been here numerous times and always a good time. What's not to like?

This restaurant is fantastic and the two staff members we interacted with were incredibly helpful during our visit to Scotland. We tried the haggis and they provided excellent recommendations for the rest of our trip. Voir le carte

Been before and I liked the place this time I stood by the wait here to be seated sign for over 5 mins, a guy at the end of the bar was cleaning glasses he glanced my way a few times In the end I walked out and went to their sister site the old boar.

Lovely service from Quinn who got us a table even though they were very busy on 16/12/23 and didnt have any at that moment in time, 10mins wait, taken to table, cocktails flowed and the food was brilliant. Staff couldn't have been nicer,helpful and anymore kind to us. Will deffo be returning soon. Thanks for making a Christmas catch up fab

Very welcoming pub with authentic architecture a Nd comfortable seating and great food. The publican was so friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of suggestions on what to do around Aberdeen and very knowledgeable about Scottish/Aberbeen history. The food was delicious. I was very impressed with the excellent service and delicious standard pub food at this restaurant. I particularly appreciated how they went above and beyond to accommodate a child at the next table with a gluten allergy. They even provided high-quality crackers as a thoughtful touch. It's a cozy spot where you can escape the last-minute festive shoppers.

What a lovely wee pub, amazing food from the festive menu and a waitress worth her weight in gold. Quinn was so attentive and handled herself so well whilst having to deal with a table of very rude customers sat next to us. Quinn stayed professional throughout our stay and gave us excellent service whilst under a lot of pressure from a very angry table of six! Well done Quinn!

Booked into Old Blackfriars for a meal before heading off to a concert and we were not disappointed! The pub was so welcoming, cosy and full of festive cheer that we decided to choose the Festive Rarebit Burger and Vegan Festive Burger options to get us into the Christmas spirit. You have GOT to head along to Old Blackfriars to try these meals as they were delicious. Absolutely perfect! There were so many tempting options on the menu so we will have to head back soon to try something else next time. Charlie, the Manager, and his team looked after us so well during our visit.
