"We booked to stay at the Redan Inn for one night and we're really excited as the reviews looked amazing. The pub itself is lovely and the food was delicious rather large portions but the quality of the food was great, especially the home made bread. The reason for 3 stars is because of the mishaps when arriving. When we were shown to our room if became clear that both rooms booked had not been cleaned, with wet towels in our room and in my brother's room an unmade bed, food on the bed and on the table, a curtain pulled off the wall. Quite shocking and if became apparent all the rooms were in this state within the pub. The team did work hard to sort this out and were very apologetic, with a free round for us at the bar. However it was really not great... especially the state of my brother's room. We also had some issues with the water in our room not getting warm for over 15 minutes when we were on a tight schedule to leave in the morning, this needs to be looked into. I will say that I would return here as I know mistakes happen and clearly there had been an issue with the housekeeper. The room was lovely and large with a comfy bed and as mentioned the food was delightful. It's also the only pub that I've been to that serves a fantastic Moretti as a city girl it's hard to find a decent pint these days and that one was unbelievably smooth and crisp!"

"Lovely place to get some food or a nice hot coffee. We phoned in advanced and asked if it's busy or not and the guy was very polite and allowed us to reserve seating too. We got there and it was all ours for a few minutes, but the 2 staff members we saw were so very welcoming and kind to us both. Delicious coffee and lovely food. We had battered cod, chips and peas Sausage, mash and onion gravy with veggies. The location is very pretty with a nice and cozy interior. We enjoyed our visit and will be returning customers. Definitely recommend. Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming and quiet. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible for everyone, with outdoor seating too if needed. Dietary restrictions: The staff take into account any dietary requirements you may have and are very considerate."

"Service was great especially as the restaurant was very busy. The staff were attentive and helpful however with regards to my steak I was not impressed at all. Two of us ordered the Sirloin steak which wasn't cheap so I was expecting a nice tender steak but mine had a serious amount of gristle which was obviously left on my plate and even the waiter noticed this and asked if everything was ok which obviously I said not really, also although the steak was tasty it was pretty chewy again not something you expect from a 30 day aged steak. It comes with fries which were very nice but no salad just an inch square dollop of cress of some kind, surely a small salad wouldn’t go a miss with the price of this meal? Wish I had taken a photo of this meal so show that this review is a fair comment and not exaggerated. Can’t fault the staff and it was only my meal that was very disappointing ."

"December 2021: While the initial panic of potential closure is behind us, the pandemic still lingers. The spaghetti bolognese, mixed together as it should be, remains impeccable, and the Fragola e Lampone dessert only improves with each serving. GOOD NEWS, BAD NEWS: August 2019: Having dined here frequently and always finding the service and food to meet my expectations, my wife and I decided to celebrate our (whatever it was) anniversary at this restaurant. After booking in advance and informing the staff of our special occasion, we found roses placed on our table and were treated to a complimentary aperitif. The food from the lunch menu was just as expected, along with the modest but satisfying Sangiovese Rubicone 2018, which paired wonderfully with our meal. Despite the cold weather outside, the sunlight streamed through the windows, and the attentive and friendly staff made our lunch experience thoroughly enjoyable. Now for the BAD news: they are leaving. Due to the greedy demands of their landlord, this beloved establishment will be relocating. So, dear reader, if you want to experience this excellent restaurant or revisit it, act quickly—they will close in July and are moving to Winford, more details to come."

"Oh my goodness what a fantastic find. Today we happened across this cafe Wow. First thing that impressed was the hard working, helpful and friendly staff. On entering, Every table was full (having tasted the salad, burgers, cakes we are not surprised) but Debbie did her utmost to not disappoint us by turning us away and within a couple of minutes had us seated comfortably with menus in hand and drinks ordered. Service throughout our meal was super, friendly, efficient. The salads /savoury plates were the best we have had for years. The coffee was delicious and the cake selection was interesting and different. Thank you we will be back very soon"
