"This little restaurant (I’ve said little as it seats 16 persons)so nice, how the interior has been thought of gives you a comfortable feel about the building. The host explained every meal in between courses (everyone eats at the same set menu, even though we all weren’t together). The ingredients of each meal, where the produce came from, fished locally from the sea in the morning, grown from their, how it’s cooked even herbs from there own allotment or herd garden. The wait wasn’t too long between courses overall approximately 3 half hours was our experience, you can stay as long as you like. The food was lovely and well presented,if there was one thing there wasn’t enough mackerel or lobster from these dishes although I understand it’s was Michelin standards. There are plenty of different drinks, soft drinks, wines, port, champagne lagers so you have a great choice."

What can you say about this restaurant that hasn’t been said in previous reviews. It’s unique, relaxed, and a complete delight. Just go there and enjoy it you will not be disappointed.

If you get the opportunity go and enjoy lunch at Carla Lamont's lovely little restaurant. The fish depends what John catches and Carla's take on local produce and foraged food and inspiration from her travels. Absolutely superb service too.

Absolutely a must visit for lunch. The presentation and attention to detail are spot on. Caral explains the thought behind every course and the history of the produce on the plate. This was our 2nd visit and again were blown away by the taste sensation. Simply superb.

Our first visit this year with the new format of lunchtime only tasting menus What a lovely treat The food was gorgeous .. So tasty and each course a discovery of different flavours. Loved having Carla introduce each course and explain the stories behind each dish. Booking essential Highly recommended

We were lucky enough to find this wee place and get a table on a recent visit to Mull. Wow! This was a unique dining experience. The four courses were exquisite and it was so hard to choose between them. The photos show only how beautifully presented they were but they can’t convey the depth of flavour that was packed into each mouthful or the quality of the ingredients and cooking. John and Carla have created something really magical here and it was a treat to be served by the man himself. Haute cuisine without a shred of pretension. A rare find! Go!

We were welcomed warmly and seated in the comfortable dining room. Following a cocktail (organised by Jonny) the chef, Carla, introduced herself and explained the background and ingredients of the first course. It was a delicious avocado soup with lobster. This format was repeated throughout the meal and it was fascinating to hear about Carla and Jonny's travels and the development of the next course. All the food was absolutely fabulous, beautifully presented and delicious to eat. All in all a great experience and would highly recommend if you can get in!

The 9th Wave is a small restaurant in a cottage up a track 15 mins walk from the road into Fionnphort. You can drive it but we didn't. Beautiful setting. There's a set menu. First time I've eaten food cooked by a Masterchef contestant. The courses were delicious and the ingredients genuinely local. One tiny quibble: the pemmican seemed hardly worth the effort. The wine list was really well considered. Friendly Carla, the chef, introduced each course with a story about the ingredients. I'll remember our lunch for a long time. You have to book well in advance as it's not open everyday and it's (long) lunches only. My advice: visit Iona in the morning and take the 12oclock ferry back in time fo...

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
