"Nic 's is a very unassuming little place next to a small row of shops in queenborough and Im sure it is greatly under used. I had heard great things about this place and for years I had wanted to try it out. It is a very small family run place with around 20ish covers, it is like walking in to your aunties living room. I have now had the great pleasure of visiting this establishment twice, both time in large parties around Christmas time and all food had been pre-ordered. The food has always been above average, beautifully cooked with lovely fresh ingredients, bang on and rather unusual for poor old Sheppey which seems to have missed out on the British food revolution. I don 't want to say anything negative about this place as it has such great potential......... BUT the staff are an absolute comedy goldmine, imagine Faulty Towers meets steptoe, My friends and I still laugh to this day. I can 't recommend the Entertainment enough it is like stepping back in time. A brilliant night out!!"

Very pleasant lunch. Good choice. Reasonable price. Photo is salmon with 5 spice rub: moist and delicious. My friends had perfectly cooked omelettes.

All our food dishes come out 15 mins apart from each other so it all ended up being cold. The steaks on the other hand were so dry it was actually like chewing on a flip flop. At this point 4hrs later and still only half the dishes came. ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE EVER BEEN

We were spending a night in Queenborough and chose this restaurant for our evening meal. It was a great choice. The food was beautifully cooked and the owner charming and attentive. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Queenborough and I will certainly return. Thank you Nicola for a lovely evening.

We never knew this place existed! It is hidden in a parade of shops overlooking the former Queenborough Castle site and a stone's throw from Queenborough train station. Decor is utilitarian but the welcome from Miss Nic Prior the owner and chef is warm. We were part of a large birthday party celebration and she even provided after-dinner games! Voir le carte

Me and 'him ' eat at Nic 's whenever possible. We think the food Nicola serves is just simply amazing and although the interior could do with a little updating, this is really part of the charm of Nic 's Restaurant. You would never believe the quality of dishes that Nic brings through that little door! Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Last evening 's visit to Nic 's was again so enjoyable. Food excellent as always, the most friendly welcome, and nothing too much trouble for Nicola and her staff. If you have not tried this island treat, then do so and enjoy great food, cooked to order and imaginatively presented. Good choices, not over expensive and a calm, relaxed atmoshere to dine in, You certainly get a 'YES ' from us Nicola

Went with a group of girls. The restaurant was choosen by them as they were all church related at one time (Christmas menu), the other time more or less the same. The vegetables were so hard, even with my own teeth too hard to chew. Very limited menu and not much chance of doing other food instead. Small portions, not a feeling yes I had enough. The small place does add to the atmosphere. Hope others will enjoy Voir le carte

Nic's restaurant is very good for well cooked food, even though the menu is limited, a very helpful lady, and tries her best you give a very good meal, the venue may be a bit out dated, and perhaps at times the service a bit slow if you are in a large group, but however the wait is very worthwhile, and Nic has won awards for her cooking. It is well worth a visit, may be one of the best place for food taste and cooking on the Island.

I can honestly say I 've never had a worse experience than this ! There were 12 of us, but no other people dining. We had all pre ordered and only 4 had starters. Booked for 7pm and still waiting for starters at 815! The waitress was very apologetic but clearly out of her depth just trying to fulfill drink orders. 9 of the 12 had steak most wanted well done . Easy? No. Spoons thrown on table to 'help yourself 'Bowls of veg came out before the steaks . No steak knives and believe me they were needed! The medium rare was medium the two medium were well and truly well done ! Potatoes came out after all bar two had finished ,the same as the large plate of broccoli that arrived after we all had fi...

"Having been to the Phoenix several times and I believe, this to be my second average review of the food and service, you 'd think they would have taken heed, but clearly not. Firstly, like most top end restaurants in London, they are reserving the right to charge for no shows £20 per head). But, what they are also doing, which is very unfair, is charging you for cancellations within 24 hours of the booking at £10 per head. If one or more of our friends had fallen ill over night it 's the flu season at the moment), they would have been were forced to go for an expensive average Sunday lunch, whilst spreading their germs to the other diners. It also poses the question, what would some do if you book a table less than 24 hours like we did) and then decide to cancel? The excuse that orders for food have already been placed doesn 't really hold water. The Sunday menu forces you to order a minimum of 2 courses at £34 per head. Some of the top London restaurants are charging less for far more opulent Sunday roasts e.g. the Jugged Hare at the Barbican). The Sunday lunch served was simply very average and not value for money. Finally, why are the desserts here, always consistently so bad? I ordered a baked cheesecake and got cream squirted on a piece of cake. When I asked what I had been served, I was told it was chef 's interpretation of a cheesecake. The menu clearly stated baked cheesecake. Not even in my wildest dreams can you interpret a baked cheesecake as a piece of cake with creamed squirted on it! This was promptly returned and replaced with a vile chocolate tart, with pastry so hard I couldn 't cut into it without the fear of smashing the plate it was served on. The chocolate was over salted and the chantilly cream served with it unsweetened. Save your money, go elsewhere."
